The maintenance of the flesh takes a rude amount of time and effort

The variability that comes with chronic illness is really sucking today: yesterday I shoveled snow for an hour and was fine but today I do it for half an hour and I feel like passing out? Plain rude

“People who had gotten COVID-19 at least twice experienced higher rates of short and long-term health effects, including heart & brain issues, compared to those only infected once.” Rather than “building immunity”, repeat Covid infections are slowly killing us. #LongCovid time.com/6553340/covi...

“The study, which followed 5367 children, found that 20% of kids (ages 6-11) and 14% of teens met researchers' threshold for long COVID.” www.medscape.com/viewarticle/...

“The number of people classed as economically inactive - not employed or actively looking for work - has jumped to more than 9 million. It surged during Covid but remains persistently high” That’s what happens when you mass infect a population with SARS. #LongCovid www.bbc.com/news/article...

The ignorance, arrogance & denialism of most GPs (UK) / Primary Care (US) concerning Covid and Long Covid play a major role in the public denial of Covid harm and of Covid's impact on increases in long term disability. If most GPs would take Long Covid seriously, it would show up in public debate.

We can all agree that eugenics is believing that a certain group of people deserves to die right? What do you call it when people refuse to wear masks to keep disabled people safe from a pandemic? Normalcy? Eugenics has become normalised and it’s disgusting #Covid #CovidIsNotOver

N95s make invisible disabilities visible. That's what the anger is about.

When we said this years ago on Twitter… based on maths… they said it was ridiculous. Slowly, slowly… this train is pulling out of the station. We’ll see what full speed looks like. www.ineteconomics.org/perspectives...

Reminder:

The number of replies saying they don't mask because they are vaccinated is a testament to public health failures. My people, vaccines reduce your risk of death and severe Covid. They do not make you immune to infection. Wear. A. Mask.

Scientists Uncover Hidden Long COVID Cases, Tripling Previous Estimates 22.8% is equal to 75 million Americans with long COVID. Maybe we should try to do something to protect ourselves & children? Prevent long Covid?Solve long Covid? #covidisntover scitechdaily.com/scientists-u...

“They wouldn’t let Covid spread if it was THAT bad” 🙄 It took authorities 5 YEARS to be honest about HIV and only because they couldn’t hide it anymore. See tobacco, asbestos, lead... Governments don’t give a shit about YOU. They only care about money & power. Read the studies FFS. #LongCovid

I am already searching for the impossible when it comes to finding a partner in Estonia who still masks but throw in the fact that I’m a lesbian too? Makes me a unicorn hunter forreal #CovidIsNotOver

Feeling incredibly lucky that as a covid-riskgroup person I can work from home, not everyone has that luxury and have to risk their health just to get paid. Mask mandates would protect people but nobody wants to even think about them

The amount of autistic decompressing I need after a full day of coursework and group exercises is breathtaking

Concerning data showing spike in heart defects in babies born after pandemic- possibly links to growing evidence of cardiovascular disease and diabetes risks pose-Covid in unvaccinated children and adults 🧪

One good thing about #Estonia is that even though you will be the only one wearing a mask in the grocery store, at least nobody is going to come up and comment on it. Oh there will be stares. But no heckling at least

Covid isn’t over. It will continue to rise until January and then take until May to get as low as it does in the last year. #WearAMask #MaskUp #CovidIsNotOver #CovidIsntOver #CovidIsAirborne #StopLongCovid #BringBackMasks #KeepMasksInHealthcare

I have been wearing a mask/respirator in all public indoor spaces since 2020. This is the second time in almost 5 years that I have gotten sick. Compare this to the 3 Covid infections ppl are getting every year these days, risking #LongCovid every time. Masks work. Wear them

Please don't let the growing potential of a bird flu pandemic distract you from the fact that we are still in the covid pandemic. And repeat covid infections increase your risk of long term health problems. Serious ones.

Why do people not realise how easy it is to become disabled? A single Covid infection has a minimum of 1 in 10 chance to give you long Covid and those chances go up with every repeat infection. And still barely anyone masks. Do yall want to become disabled or something?

For the past 4 years almost every major “disinformation” reporter has ignored the rise of COVID denialists like Jay and others, instead choosing to boost their denialist rhetoric that the pandemic ended (it has not, according to the World Health Organization), and that COVID is harmless (it is not)

If the #LGBTQ+ community can’t organise events with masking during a pandemic that disproportionally disables us, I don’t even want to participate

Covid is no laughing matter. "The scale of the problem that Covid is posing for individuals and society appears to be on a par with climate change: too big to tackle, so we look away" www.theguardian.com/world/2024/n...

The only way to prevent long covid is to prevent catching covid. Long covid has over 200 symptoms and no cure. Covid harms every organ system. The pandemic is ongoing. Mask up in public spaces. Whatever health you have left is worth protecting. Resources in thread 🧵

Looking for people in #Estonia who are #CovidSafe and are looking for friends! There are so few of us and I would like to feel less alone
