I won’t tell you how to feel, but you aren’t at fault for what happens to him. That’s why we have Good Samaritan laws (for people who try to help humans). The only way you could avoid mistakes is to never try to help—and then think of all the cats who would suffer if you didn’t try.

Congrats to Dougie’s mum! She’s so cool.

In the US, health issues with eyes are covered by insurance, just not preventative care and vision correction (glasses, contacts). Which should be covered! But it’s much better than the teeth situation.

These are amazing! Great gifts.

Oh duh, the algorithm kindly showed me this because of all the awesome cats! Cats are great and surprisingly often their people are too.
comment in response to post
I don’t know why the algorithm showed me this, but I also made a scary big decision today. I suspect our decisions arose out of similar circumstances, based on your profile. Regardless, your words are comforting.

Yay it’s Copper! Sounds like you are having a good time. Too bad you didn’t get any le Zahn ya.

Happy birthday Jorts! (I only remember like three people’s birthdays and one of them is a cat.)

This video raises more questions than it provides answers. But I would love to see a remake starring Gonzo.

Interrupting to say, Worcestershire sauce is a key ingredient in the amazing US snack “homemade Chex mix.” For that reason, it’s still very important to our culture.

So fast!

Exciting! Way to go Dougie Dad! Also way to go Dougie for that fluffy tum tum.

They are bad people, but the silver lining is that the responses from ca’ats are always excellent.

Agree, I don’t like inside birbs. They are noisy and kick around a lot of birdseed. And they do seem like they’d interfere with having a cat, which is the best thing to have.
comment in response to post
What do you have against birbs? Most of them are pretty cool.

If someone doesn’t like how you operate, they can start their own rescue and run it however they like. You are giving a creature you love to a complete stranger. I would have nightmares about making that decision. Also if a rescue turns them down, there are plenty of cats in municipal shelters.
comment in response to post
Are all your rescues the cutest cats ever or are you just really good at photographing?

I think for people who lived their whole lives somewhere with no public transportation, it’s scary because it’s unfamiliar and they don’t know what to do or where to go. Like I would feel if I were suddenly on a remote mountain.

Merit or not, your focus on criticizing Glomar misses the forest for the trees. My point is, the response OP received is not a cognizable FOIA response, Glomar or otherwise. No exemption. Didn’t provide appeal language. You can’t just close a request as “insufficient.” Etc. It’s a joke.
comment in response to post
If you want a more reliable source of info about the FOIA than “random AI,” this is a good resource. www.justice.gov/oip/doj-guid...
comment in response to post
Whether Glomar is good legal doctrine is a different issue. My point is that most FOIA professionals follow the law (unlike whoever wrote that) and care about transparency. And I bet I know a lot more of them than you do.
comment in response to post
A Glomar response neither confirms nor denies, but a legally proper one would cite an exemption. It’s not pedantic because you can’t withhold records unless an exemption applies. Withholding records without an applicable exemption is a complete violation of the FOIA.
comment in response to post
Why is it your assumption that public servants are the cause of this? Much more likely it is because they fired the public servants who have been working hard on behalf of the public, and this is the result when you get rid of them.
comment in response to post
This is not a glomar response. For one thing it would have to cite an exemption.
comment in response to post
Have they fired their FOIA staff? That’s my first thought.

Dougie, you are lucky to have such a great mum! Happy mumtherses day to your mum!!
comment in response to post
They make the scariest noises! Glad you got a gogurt for being so brave.

They probably are all using personal phones. I don’t think they’d be allowed to download an app like signal to a government phone.

You are always 100% great, even when you aren’t 100% good.

Thanks for reposting, I deleted my Twitter account.

That’s a lot of cuteness! Happy St Patrick’s day to you and your cousins.

Do you know about physics and relativity? My favorite nonfiction book is “Why Does E=MC2 and Why Should We Care?” by Brian Cox. It’s pretty old now but most of the stuff in the book is still good physics.
comment in response to post
It can be, but my point is that the employees should assume everything they say on government chat software can be made public.
comment in response to post
There shouldn’t be any kind of non-work talk on those chats anyway. That stuff is all FOIA-able. They don’t need to infiltrate the systems. They (or anyone else) can just file a FOIA.

I forgot, we also need a tram up the mountain to High Hrothgar. I really hate those steps.

I’d be mostly ok with Skyrim’s system if the northern boat route stopped and departed at Winterhold. Falkreath needs a carriage but once you get one at Lakeview Manor, that is better than a public carriage anyway. (I’ve thought a lot about public transport in Skyrim lately.)

It does sound terrible but I will try it because Vera recommends it.

Spring comes early in Ireland. Mumy is going to do great! Go Mumy!

OMG this reminds me! My husband said he wants a hellocobber shelf (I tell him about Gonzo and Kelsey), but when I said “but you don’t have a hellocobber to put on it” he was shocked that there was a hellocobber on the hellocobber shelf! Why else would it be a hellocobber shelf?! 😂
comment in response to post
I just googled to make sure Irish people use the word “nap” and I learned the more common word is kip? So having Dugly as a friend is very educational!
comment in response to post
Perfect timing, I just logged on to see how you and family are doing. I’m glad you weren’t without power for two long. I hope mummy can take a nap today.

My husband can’t read written ca’at speak, but he still appreciates that it is a valid dialect. I translate for him.

I always found it weird that the only way they distinguish cat mutts from each other is by lumping them all as either long hair or short hair! How is it helpful? Why are vets so obsessed with hair length, and why do they deny the existence of a fluff spectrum?

Sourdough starter is worse! They keep it alive for decades and just use little bits of it now and then. And then people give pieces of their colony away to others to further propagate the creatures. The little packets, while horrifying, are not nearly as bad.

Yes he is the cutest little baby! Correct!
