Creative Australia ditching Khaled Sabsabi as our representative at the Venice Biennale is an extraordinary denial of artistic freedom by our supposedly leading & independent arts advocate. A week ago Sabsabi said he thought the honour "wouldn’t happen because of who I am.” Turns out he was right.

Just appalled by the Creative Australia Board giving into political interference to rescind the appointment of artist Khaled Sabsabi and curator Michael Dagostino for the 2026 Venice Biennale. I worked with them both in SW Sydney as young artists and was so happy for them. This is shitty.
