It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

Seems like a lot of OP’s comments here believe that the sin of assisting the genocide in Palestine is so mortal that the only requisite punishment is the destruction of America. However, we have committed sins equal to or greater than Gaza in our own country and we didn’t destroy it over them.

Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL), who is trying to run for Senate in 2026, might be about to catch an assault charge www.notus.org/congress/rep...

No fucking shit their ratings are falling off a cliff

This is what I was waiting to see. Poll numbers about how Dems want to see mass resistance from their elected officials is one thing. A teacher clearly stating his willingness to get arrested for the movement is another.

Teachers teach. We need a leaderful movement, and there are leaders all around us.

Over on X, simple tweets by my colleague Greg Bluestein of the Atlanta Journal Constitution have been blocked. They were nothing but video of a town hall held by Rep. Rich McCormick R-GA where he was asked questions about DOGE

Senate Democrats are forcing Republicans to pull an all-nighter and take votes that will be used against them. Gumming up the works is no substitute for a Senate majority, but it is worthwhile nonetheless.

there's never a point where things get bad enough that it makes sense to give in to despair instead of picking up a shovel

Oh look, the Failing New York Times got caught profiling a GOP activist and trying to pass them off as an average Joe again! At some point this shit has to be willful negligence

The Trump Tax: letting McDavid have the freedom of Boston in the middle of the ice

Turns out that some legacy media operators are finally realizing who the fuck their audience actually is and is trying desperately to not permanently lose them

Something darkly funny about the whole realignment arc of American politics is that there are a non-trivial amount of people who were Obama die-hards and are now full QAnon, and there are a lot of former straight-ticket GOP voters who now think McConnell is the architect of the American downfall.

There it is. What most of us thought would happen is happening. That feckless coward McConnell, who refused to boot a man he hated from our politics for good when he incited an insurrection, is going out as one of the most individually responsible people for our fall into tyranny. Good riddance.

everything this administration is doing has utterly convinced me that the democratic nominee in 2028 is going to run on a kind of burnished fire-and-brimstone anti-corruption that we have not seen for generations

The root that tears apart your foundation begins as a seed of distrust, hate, and blame. The seed that grew into a dictatorship in Europe didn’t arrive overnight. It started with everyday Germans mad about inflation and looking for someone to blame.

This whole saga has, I think, demonstrated very well my contention that American political journalists believe that they deserve all of the respect and deference that comes with filling a vital societal role, while rejecting the idea that holding such a position also entails duties and obligations.

Oh shit this is a damning ratio for the Congressman

I hope America is as lucky as the delta jet - everyone survives but the right wing explodes

Woof those stove touching scars are DEEP

Imagine going to jail for rugpulling a shitcoin

taking a big L on doubting the 50501 thing, unironically 'reddit organizing' should not be a perjorative

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, Democrats hold next to no power in DC. Republicans control the House, Senate, Presidency, and Supreme Court. Ask them. All we can do besides winning elections is telling people that Trump’s crashing the planes.

Don’t really have to say anything else.

It reads like Hochul is at least considering getting ready to toss Eric Adams on his ass. Tomorrow could be a big day in NYC politics - the Mayor’s position is untenable

From now until the last deadline, I will be writing about all of the candidates who are challenging incumbents in the U.S. House and U.S. Senate for the 2026 elections. Let’s start with those who filed in January 2025. t.co/GHnyT3hEBA

Over 1k people at a Senator’s town hall isn’t nothing, I’ll say that

Nuke that whole organization
