Over on X, simple tweets by my colleague Greg Bluestein of the Atlanta Journal Constitution have been blocked. They were nothing but video of a town hall held by Rep. Rich McCormick R-GA where he was asked questions about DOGE

The correct question to ask is why are people still using X? I mean, everyone should know by now that Musk is messing around with the algorithm and even blocking certain post.
I was one of the attendees. They requested questions ahead of time and they had priority to the DOGE ones. Unfortunately for them, that backfired. Here is a link with the whole meeting: https://www.youtube.com/live/cOYNwZ1tuV0
This was all very predictable, and you all should have left X a long time ago. I do not feel in the least bit sorry. Musk was only going to increase the censorship over time.
@crooked.com this is the 'good fight' you guys are fighting. im starting to think @jonfavs.bsky.social is just afraid to give up his twitter addiction. i promise you can doomscroll here!
Indicative of the real welfare queens and terrorists you need to worry about, not someone from another country, they're right in your backyard, running multi-billion dollar corporations, and holding office.
Your oppression is their profession
Free speech on formerly known as Twitter means the ability to post far-right vitriol, russian propaganda, and pro-apartheid waste. It has never allowed for free expression of opinions that musk disagrees with and if it was left up it was only because he didn't catch it. None of this is new.
Elon is really amping up the propaganda and censoring what he doesn’t agree with. You have to wade through the cesspool of misinformation over there now.
Seriously - you can’t trust X especially now. I haven’t been on there since November and OMG I can’t even imagine what it’s like now…. Has it gotten way more obnoxious?
1. Most people should leave TwitterX, the more who leave, the better.
2. Some should stay there to directly challenge the state media to their face.
3. A high ranking US Govt official controlling a news media source and censoring journalists is a big deal. It should not be ignored.
That my point. You ever hear of the head of any federal agency or department who can't explain what their job title is or how they got the position? That's because no such person exists. Until now.
It doesn't matter if he doesn't hold a real position if he has real power over the government. Clearly he's a force in the current government and must be treated as such.
If the entire left exited Twitter, MAGAs would soon become bored and exit it too, and the platform would simply fold. This is what needs to happen, and the quicker, the better. It takes courage to break the habit.
No person with any self esteem should be on X. This isn’t about follower count. This is about saving our nation. Musk manipulates that platform. It is not social media. It is Musk egomania. He threatens advertisers with retribution from Trump if they don’t advertise. He is desperate. He is failing.
They need to realize they’re only kept around on x to provide a semblance of free speech, as their news coverage gets blocked over on Xchan whenever it threatens the rw bubble over there
What keeps getting MISSED by US media is how easily #GA07 Rich McCormick surrendered Congress' authority/powers to Trump when he LIED & said "The President has great purview over where a lot of this money goes." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOYNwZ1tuV0
Congress controls the "power of the purse" - NOT Trump!
So wait, are you saying the videos on X are blocked so nobody can see them? The blocking can only be done performed by an X and not by the congressman?
At this point, journalists' primarily posting over there feels little different than willfully walking past the body of the AP's WH correspondent to attentively transcribe Karoline Leavitt's lies.
The audacity of Republicans telling us we have to cut 30% of everything to sustain social security and Medicare even while telling us they're going to pass a 4 trillion dollar tax package for the wealthy. The real reason we can't have anything is because Republicans keep giving it to the rich.
@jamiedupree.bsky.social why are you & @bluestein.bsky.social still on that platform? How many nazi salutes does it take to convince you guys to stop putting ad rev in his pockets?
so is this government censorship because Elon now works for the government? except wait, he says doesn't work for the government? except wait again, the White House says he does?
I think there is a sworn affidavit that states that Elon is just an adviser to the POTUS, and that all the things he does are explicitly coming from POTUS.
Seriously, when things go south, Trump's DOJ put in writing that all of it is squarely on Trump, not Musk.
My usual response to this is…. There’ll be an EO coming to rectify that error 😂😂 Also recently I was curious about Trump’s signature as it appears to be missing letters! Almost as if ‘someone’ might insist it wasn’t his signature! 🤔
Doesn't really matter. An agent of the government -- as in, somebody who executes the government's agency, not like a CIA or DEA guy -- still implicates the first amendment.
It's adorable that you think the constitution even matters any more 🤣🤣🤣
His presidency and pardoning seditious conspiracy violates the 14th and nothing happened. It's just a piece of old garbage now
That's an interesting question. But then, IS Elon an employee of the executive branch? I mean yes, effectively, but the WH keeps insisting he's "just" a special advisor to that other guy.
I don't think advisors get to dispatch people to federal agencies, so there's that...
It's a 1A issue when doing it *in the role of a government agent" so X would need to be considered to be acting on behalf of the government when applying viewpoint discrimination to make it a 1A issue
Currently it's vague, but they're pushing gov agencies to use x exclusively too so....
And the sheer overlap in staff embedded in government coming from Musk companies, if any of the takedown orders come directly from a gov employee it's a 1A issue (note: gov may ask politely, not demand)
If Musk is ordering it when asked by R politicians it seems likely 1A violation
Because the 1A prohibits congress from making laws not the executive branch being run by (checks notes) a free speech maximalist.
More seriously: there's likely some legal details here where this is elon blocking publication on his platform not in general, and thus 1A doesn't apply.
Oh yes.
But there's probably (not a lawyer) a difference between the government being required to publish stuff on a government platform and the government using their power to suppress information.
Said journalist could (for now) publish on here or in newspapers/tv/... Just not on https://x.gov
It wasn’t questions about DOGE. The crowd pointedly asked if he was in support of Trump declaring himself king. He tried to shut them up by saying he heard similar complaints about Biden and the crowd was having NONE of that bs.
Damn, I forgot he banned these accounts. But I did remember he subsequently banned journalists that reported on that until the outcry was so loud he had to reinstate them.
Everyone repost any of the videos of this town hall. X removed the reporter's article and video. Don't let the "free speech absolutist " Nazi who owns X silence America's indignation and anger.
Anyone who still relies on X as an unbiased platform for news and views from all perspectives needs to seriously wake up.
It is run according to the whims of a drug-addled manchild whose biases and ignorance about topics outside his expertise are dictating censorship actions on the platform.
(To be sure I never post for fun on X and I don't spend any time there. Sometimes I'm tempted to post a story if I think it's important. But I worry that it's a liability to have an account on a government-owner service)
Yeah, Elon's a real 1A warrior. Even worse than this, someone was mean to him, so he sicced tje DOJ on him. But keep telling us how he's not acting as an officer of the U.S. government, subject to Congressional confirmation.

Also on X: “Musk weaponized govt position to threaten companies if they did not advertise on X. “Push for agency agreements follows flurry of brands returning to spending on X, including Amazon...Apple. Verizon is also planning to begin spending again on X.”
Someone explain to me what the point is of engaging on X if you're not a Muskovite. you cannot inform over there. you cannot debate over there. you cannot educate over there. you cannot dissent over there. So yea, I don't care what they're doing to who in that filthy fuck forum.
STOP USING X. Abandon it to its own demise. No one who's left there is going to be convinced of anything anymore. There's no use fishing in a cesspool.
If you are not on X like me, someone who was there posted a video of McCormick’s Communications Director, who was trying to answer the questions from the angry people who were left outside because the venue inside was at capacity.

There are only bots and cultists there.
Hats off to Mr Bluestein.
It's almost like those LARPers just wanted some old-timey authoritarianism, huh?
It's not embarrassing at all.

I've been assured that Elon Musk is a 'free speech absolutist'.
or maybe 'don't tread on me'
Seriously, WTF?

Clearly blowback has begun.
Can see why it’s being repressed.
Make no mistake: the proud boys will have badges and government provided firearms and armor soon. It's coming. Arm yourselves while you can.

Several left political types have been "hacked" recently, losing control of their account for days. Hmmm.
Total clownshow lol
