Having commuted on bike through Edinburgh beside the trams I’m not a big fan of them but do want to see less cars and better infrastructure so hopefully there is a good solution

I get the point around permanency but for the cost of a whole network you can have a fleet of electric buses solving maintenance issues and also far more route flexibility. Instead of digging up all the roads for rails we could fix them which leads to smoothness of rides.

Don’t see why trams are better than a fleet of electric buses. No need to dig up roads, no need to redirect water mains and other pipes, more flexibility for routes. Trams would have been good to instal in the 80s but given Edinburgh fiasco maybe not now
