Galloway intervals are listed here. When I do them I tend to start with 2min run/30 sec walk. After the first Mile I increase the run portion depending on how I’m feeling. For long runs I take a walk break every mile. www.jeffgalloway.com/training/mag...

I like AirPods in transparency mode for most running, but I use Shokz for races (when I want music). I can hear everything around me and I don’t have to worry about them falling out of my ears. But sound quality is awful.

That’s much better feedback than Garmin gives. I’ve looked into Oura in the past but am reluctant to add another subscription service. Maybe I should give it another look.

I thought I had it set to 7hrs (11pm - 6pm) but it seems to be ignoring that. Frankly, it hasn’t had anything positive to say since 2022 😭

My LTHR is set correctly (I believe) and my HR zones are based off of that. My training load was in the optimal range yesterday. I’m just playing around with the new and “improved” run coach for this upcoming half marathon to see how it works (and if it’s worth having to wear my Garmin 24/7).

I don’t follow Garmin strictly – I’m taking it relatively easy this spring and loosely following a Hal Higdon half marathon plan – but I was surprised that Garmin suggested a decent workout on a day when it doesn’t think I’m ready to train.

I ended up switching back to my Apple Watch Ultra 2 (mostly) this fall. I’ve looked at Runna but I only have half marathons on the calendar at the moment so I’ll likely take it easy until I figure out my 2025 plans.

Rest day because I’m old 😭 The weather is perfect – 69° and ☀️ I think I ran better before Garmin started adding all these new training and recovery metrics.

I’m been having the exact same issue since December 2022. My heart rate during easy runs has increased by 10-15bps, and my marathon times have increased by 1-1.5 hours. Nothing irregular shows up on medical tests.
