And one more thing to add. Amy and Metal Sonic were both introduced with characters like Tails and Knuckles in the Classic games, unlike Shadow. It just feels like they wanted to rush out Shadow. I’m not saying that I hate Shadow, though I do dislike the fans that more Shadow than Amy in Sonic 4.

When Sonic 3 was releasing, many fans, particularly Shadow fans, were saying how Amy would’ve “taken most of the screen time away from him.” Now those same fans are basically wanting more Shadow over Amy, even in the 4th film, because “he’s so cool,” and “Sonic 4 will fail without Shadow.”
