just maybe consider it might not be the healthiest cope. in retrospect, it has a lot in common with dissociation re being a trauma self-protective measure. if people need it and find it useful, great! but if and when they get to a safe place, trauma therapy might be also be a good idea.

i accidentally taught myself to lucid dream by accident. i lived in an abusive home and the nightmares were crippling. i lost the ability in my late 20s, but retained a lack of nightmares (in a way) for a couple more decades. now it’s still pretty triggering to even read about it, so i’m not, sorry.

tbf, the civil rights movement wasn’t facing environmental desolation in their immediate future.

as long as it isn’t zero men, it is all men. they need to stop ignoring it and giving their buddies a pass and only caring about their own relatives. all women need help (and many other genders as well), and all men are the ones with the power to help. motherfuckers need to step the fuck up

it is all men though. women have no power to change the behavior of the men who don’t even see women as human. it has to be men who make the changes. even if they’re not an actual rapist, every single one of them holds responsibility for masculine culture. it is on them to make the change.

this is the epitome of “respect as an authority” vs “respect as a person”. they demand women treat them as authorities AND refuse to even treat women as human. both are necessary for their optimal pleasure.

and the comparison being for a healthy person, their entire getting ready regimen costs maybe 1 spoon for them, while simultaneously they started with a shit ton more spoons to begin with.
comment in response to post
we aren’t measuring spoonfuls of energy. each spoon represents a unit of energy. again, easy to imagine getting out of bed costs 1 spoon. taking a shower costs 5. eating breakfast costs 2.

ram doesn’t make any sense because the human equivalent of ram is working memory. and rom is long term memory. they used spoons because that is an item almost everyone has, and you can imagine a fist full easily and easily envision someone having more and someone else having fewer.

blood meridian. i can’t recommend it. be aware that it is extraordinarily, graphically and bizarrely violent. and his prose is some of the most beautiful, evocative prose i’ve ever read, so you get an extra potent dose of it. luckily, the fucker died, so at least he won’t write any more

well, yes, but that is all cats of all species 😅🤣😅🤣

my son almost had one of those to look forward to, but it turns out where i had them displayed was right where all the smoke and grease from the stove went, apparently, and when i went to move, i touched them for the first time in ages, and they were sticky and gross, so they all went in the trash

you’re wrong, but i adore that you quoted shakespeare like the bible. we need more of that, please

i care. i think they should get ss#s, so they can be fully participating citizens

what’s the joke?
comment in response to post
i mean, there is. it’s misogyny and anti-intellectualism. it’s what the fascist movement is based on. they want people in general, and women specifically, to be too ignorant to see what they’re doing, much less fight back.

you don’t have to make things that make you less than thrilled! i *adore* making small plushies. i have hand sized squid, whale, bunny, bear that i made, and quite a few more i’ve given away. they make me so happy. that is how it should be. find a small project or two that make your heart sing

i’m new here. what is an infinite painter?
comment in response to post
my recommendation is find a project you want to make, and *then* buy yarn for it. if you just go buy yarn, no telling if you’ll ever find a just right project for it. this will also help guide your selection.

yeah, i’ve finally gotten my life to a place where i can manage my dr appts at least, without massive pem after, but i tried to do some physical stuff the other day, and yeah, it was a good reminder that there’s a reason we don’t normally do that

also i’m glad to have found you again! i used to follow you on twitter

thanks for letting me know! it wasn’t even hard to find 😊

and i think the main attraction of esp hard core is that they have pretty violent mosh pits, and he is aggressively sensory seeking, so that is a great stim for him
comment in response to post
i’m happy he didn’t really get into this super hard stuff until he left home. mostly he has pretty good taste in music and we’ve spent most of his life sharing stuff back and forth.
comment in response to post
lol ratm is not. but i’m not very knowledgeable about music genres. i’m just reporting what he says he listens to. i will say some of the examples he’s sent me are way tf harder than ratm. he does like them too, though
comment in response to post
yeah. a few years ago. he’s all about hardcore and metal now though.
