On April 20, the DOGE website detailing spending cuts was updated to claim $160 billion in cuts. But the $5 billion in additional cuts appears to be pulled out of thin air. Nothing has been added to the "Wall of Receipts" since at least April 15.

The aggressive mass deportation policy of Trump is inconsistent with immigration law and constitutional guarantees of due process. These principles are not just important to protect the rights of undocumented immigrants. They are necessary to protect the rights of everyone, including U.S. citizens.

On Monday, Popular Information reported that at least 29 people had their ballots in the 2024 election wrongly discarded by the NC Supreme Court. On Tuesday, the NC Board of Elections filed a notice in federal court citing the reporting, stating that the votes would be restored.

Trump and his allies have said that the federal deficit is an existential threat that necessitates immediate spending cuts. Elon Musk, as the leader of DOGE, has pushed for spending cuts across the government. Meanwhile, the bulk of federal discretionary spending is spent on the military.
