(just read your most recent blog post and saw the specific line you quoted and now realize where the trouble arose.) fwiw, i didn’t read it that way and focused on the “friction-creating” mechanisms you speculated on, like a confirmation dialog prompting you to acknowledge that your behavior is 👎

not a parent but i like pedagogy and games! a recent jeopardy contestant talked about how she did summer school sessions with her kids. the latest one was "a brief history of timekeeping" and the final project was to design your own calendar

I did a brief search the other day and found a probably incomplete list. The circle diagram idea is sick! en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikiped...

late to the party but i’ve successfully converted all non-iPhone users i’ve dated to join the iPhone club through the power of peer pressure and the allure of facetime

hard agree, but it's been a constant in my life in a way that no other note-taking app has been (by way of it being pre-installed on nearly all of my devices). i think i've mostly used it as a storage bucket for my thoughts rather than a place to develop ideas over time

used to use a "daily note" shortcut all the time for quick capture stuff. was super helpful for quick brain-dumps and task lists when i was in college. now i mostly jot those down in my pocket notebook since it's lower friction
