Not inevitable. This is why Putin and his threatening stance has to be defeated. Russian economy is not in great shape and even there peoples dissatisfaction will begin to show. If he falls many of the right populist politicians lose their 'leader'.

Reform Ltd are the company behind the Reform Party of which Nigel Farage is Leader and Tice is deputy leader. Reform is not a democratic political party like others but just a company with several directors.

Definitely not austerity brain. How much is the current national debt and how much interest do we pay servicing that debt. You could keep borrowing but that money has to be paid back at some point. Also there would be inflationary pressures and that hits the poorest hardest.

I think Labour were so desperate for power they underestimated the public who wanted change and would have been willing to pay a little more tax. They do have to show improvement in public services and people's quality of life if they are to stave off the populist right.

Agreed you could buy it for say a pound but then what. The Treasury has no spare money and bonds are borrowing at a time when other departments are crying out for money. I want water renationalised but not sure it is the quick fix solution you think it is.

Why not mention the non Reeves story being pumped out by the Tory managed BBC. Any small chink will be blown up out of proportion to create the allusion they are constantly dishonest and so Jo Public then says 'they are all the same'. Not saying they are perfect - far from it but..

If you think the current Govt and Starmer are more dishonest than the last bunch that 'governed ' the country for the 14 years before then you have swallowed the right wing media propaganda pill and naive would be your middle name. I accept all is not perfect but...

They foolishly tied their hands during the GE by saying they wouldn't raise the 3 major taxes and would now feel dishonest to move from that position. Wealth taxes they definitely could have targeted but they are trying not to spook markets rightly or wrongly.

I really don't think they are austerity brained though understand that impression is being promoted.. I think they would love to expand public services but their problem is they have to figure a way to do that. They threw away the economic tools by saying they wouldn't raise Income tax NI and VAT.

Agreed Labour is operating in the Overton window but as I said if they are seen fixing some of the publics concerns like repairing roads, reducing waiting lists, better public transport etc then they can regain ground. Reform have no policies and eventually will run out of slogans.
