This is really standard behavior in this part of Idaho, sadly. Violent vigilantism is culturally acceptable - expected, even - and there are a lot of neo-Nazis there.

Why has this not affected milk and milk products the way that eggs have been affected?

And Jamie Raskin erasure! I literally have not heard or seen anything about Bernie in my social media or IRL conversations. The idea that Bernie is the party leader made me go …huh? There are so many people that have been more visible.

I think that a general faculty strike would help drive this home.

That’s appalling.

Duplicitous indeed.

Out of curiosity, did you get a message about this from university leadership, or are faculty finding out from the press?

Thank you to this headline writer for stating it plainly. Most of the headlines about DOGE actions have not done this, and as a result casual news readers truly do not know about the breadth of illegality, IME. More of this, please!

JD Vance seems like someone who will say anything to get power. Do you think he would moderate once on top?

I am NOT happy about the proliferation of Nazi salutes on my feed. I get why it’s important to show it but can people at least put it second in the thread or something? I don’t want to see that shit.

I don’t even think most women find this attractive. To me it looks gross and scary for their health. It’s just a pissing contest.

I live in the Silicon Valley and this is true. However, I will say that I’ve found the Trump/Musk protests and organizing activity to be more muted than I expected. A surprising number of people still respect Musk even after he destroyed Twitter.

100% in agreement. I think many people do not have the habit of sharing links because they are penalized on other platforms, but it’s so damaging.

If you don't make it a priority to include a link and/or attribution with the information you share, you're setting yourself and your followers up to fall for all kinds of subtle propaganda.
Verify your info and provide the source of your verification. It's irresponsible not to.

If that’s a typo, it is a truly excellent one.

I’ve been a little disappointed not to see more public denunciations of the USAID actions from senior development economists. Is anything being organized, such as an open letter?

Isn’t interference with mail voting an even bigger concern than ending it?

Everyone said, don’t worry, elections are controlled by the states, he can’t mess with them. And here we are.

Why won’t any of your former colleagues stand up for the constitution? Not even one? Seriously asking.

Not on average. This is to balance all the investments that completely fail.

People who don’t live in the DC area have little idea of the mass panic and confusion folks are experiencing here. Everyone knows dozens and dozens of people who are being indiscriminately fired or who face the imminent threat of layoff. Imagine 1/2 of your neighbors facing this.
