Fun! I ran the Grok experiment. I asked Elon's AI "What famous person spreads the most disinformation online right now?"

It's awful, but maybe if the Nazi salute catches on within MAGA (maybe they'll call it the MAGA salute, or something) more people will wake up and see what's really driving this movement.

If you think I'm too critical of Elon Musk you're really gonna hate the history books

“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.” ~ Proverbs 31:8, 9

Everybody's a Bonhoeffer kind of Christian until their neighbors and the churches all around them keep supporting guys who "accidentally" do nazi salutes at big political events in support of their preferred leader, a guy who posts pictures of himself posing as a king.

"Someone with his business acumen" was the first Big Lie from decades ago. Is being a grifting conman business acumen?

J.D. Vance meets Mark Driscoll. Who is saying don't have a beer? I mean besides the fundamentalist patriarchal conservative church I used to attend who at one point had made leaders sign a commitment form to not drink.

Copy and quote-skeet this with a genuinely decent song whose music video aged hilariously: youtu.be/svWINSRhQU0?...

Trump's lawyers are absolutely flailing in the courts right now

NEW: Here is Trump's executive order purporting to end the independence of multi-member head independent agencies. www.documentcloud.org/documents/25...

"Explain it to me like I'm 5." Ok. Elon is dismantling government agencies that provide oversight and he's trying to boost his own government contracts and funnel taxpayer money to his businesses. He doesn't need to be a trillionaire but he sure is trying.

It's crazy but not surprising that 68%of Republicans would just keep on singing "How Great is Our God" while the family worshipping next to them gets dragged away by ICE.

The primary deception that seems foundational to many is the strong belief that the kingdom of God is an external one, here and now, measured by human standards. Power, large numbers, fame, and global acclaim are presumed to equal God’s blessings.

I heard a moderate conservative commentator on NPR explain how conservatives have a real moral issue with DEI and agree or disagree, we're missing that "both sides" have strong moral convictions. There's a nazi saluting apartheid heir and a guy with white nationalist tattoos on one side...so no.

Yes, as an example, Hitler came to power in 1933 and immediately started purging the government and going after political enemies. But Kristallnacht didn't happen until November 1938.

It’s a cliché to say it—and no two historical scenarios offer a perfectly compelling analogy—but what each American is doing now is what they’d be doing were they a German living in Germany and were it 1936-38 There’s no more doubt about who the appeasers or the bad guys are—they’re in the open now

Mike Pence just reposted an old article he wrote about the limitations on the powers of a president. For some reason. Here is a part of it.

It's easier to deal with problematic stories in the Bible when you accept that most of the prose was intended to be read (heard, really) as literature, not history. There are historical kernels, but the stories were crafted to be enjoyed, appreciated, discussed, shared, and critiqued as stories.

"A Catholic politician has gone to Dachau, appropriated the site of Jewish mass murder, and will incorporate it into a Christian penitential logic of immediate forgiveness."

As I said to a reporter today: DOGE is not a management project, centered on efficiency; it is a political project, centered on shrinking the federal government and politicizing core functions.

Be careful out there.

It's common knowledge that the architect of Project 2025 is a graduate of Wheaton College, the sort of school only "real Christians" would attend. People who pray, read the Bible, profess orthodoxy, etc. Maybe more Christians will find that the difference between sinner and saint is not "Christian"?
