Omg, bird flu is going to ravage this country if it starts picking up.

sorry, I thought you were an ironic account, but I guess you're just a mark. Some guy trying to profit off the campaign's success is not the kind of corruption I'm talking about. I'm talking about the corruption that's coming from the top. Musk and Bezos and Trump's cronies are here for a reason.

They're going to loot everything. I don't think america really realizes what it's done.

Let this be a reminder to all that big business is not your friend. They will turn on you the second it becomes convenient to do so.

Indeed, he should have been disqualified for attempting an insurrection. The Supreme Court facilitated the demise of the rule of law by telling the states they could not disqualify him.

Expect to see more of this over the next 4 years. The media is going to go full-blown propagandist for the Trump administration. They know that is what he will demand, and they will be happy to oblige in order to avoid conflict.

Sure thing buddy!

Very naive to believe this. You should be vigilant for this kind of thing regardless of which platform it is

We have lost our country. I can only hope that one day we will be able to reclaim it.

Congratulations, America. You officially chose to place a man above the law. You've destroyed what was once considered a foundational, fundamental aspect of what makes this country great.

Makes sense that they should make themselves as ugly on the outside as they are on the inside.

This is just one facet of the broader Republican strategy of scapegoating transgender individuals (particularly transgender women) for political gain. Scapegoating is a well-known tactic that authoritarians like to use in order to gain and maintain power. We have to stand up for trans people.

lol okay buddy sure. If that's what you want to take away from this discussion, then by all means. Just so you know, I'm poor as hell myself. Okay, bye now.

43 million people have federal student loans. I don't care if they're poor or middle class, I want those loans eliminated. They never should have been issued to begin with because a college education is a bare minimum for effective citizenship in the modern world.
comment in response to post
I would argue the same for a college degree as well. If you want to be an effective citizen in the modern world, then it's not good enough to go purely on the basic knowledge you learn from k-12.
comment in response to post
Those with a degree were pretty much one of the only groups of people who did not shift toward Trump in this election. In any case, your argument is meaningless because it could just as easily be applied to k-12. Do you want to remove public funding of that, too? We need to get with the times.

You need to learn to read the room. You know the super rich aren't going to side with you, so for what purpose to you alienate the middle class? The only way to protect the common people from exploitation by the rich is to work *with* the middle class, not to push them over to the other side.
comment in response to post
And you realize that the poor are benefiting from the federal student loan system, right? And that student loan forgiveness benefits them as well. It's not all middle class taking out loans. You don't seem to understand that.
comment in response to post
I don't understand why you're hating on the middle class. Please point your anger to the proper targets. Are they perfect? No, of course not. But the suburban soccer moms aren't the problem in this country.
comment in response to post
It's not about wages. It's about having a functional democratic political system. You can't have that when you have 70 million+ who are so easily deceived by a man like Trump into allowing him and his cronies to loot the national coffers. No educated electorate would have put him back into power.
comment in response to post
Debateable. Either way, if you're concerned about the elite, then it's not the middle class you should be going after. It's the billionaire capitalist class who are destroying this country in the name of hoarding wealth.
comment in response to post
Federal student loans are given out with no qualifications needed. You lack a basic understanding of the federal student loan system. it's not "privilege" to receive a federal student loan.
comment in response to post
The elites and the privileged do not have to take out loans.
comment in response to post
Higher Education should be publically funded from beginning to end. Nobody should have to take out loans at all, at least not for state universities. Frankly a degree is a bare minimum these days to be a competent citizen.

This is great. Supplying people with the help they need directly is the best way to change struggling lives. It's unfortunate that there is so much opposition to this approach strictly on an ideological basis.

They're disgusting and should be driven off this platform for sure. At the very least, the second they target a person IRL, they should be banned immediately.

We shouldn't let the pledge of allegiance off the hook either. Can we please talk about how disturbing it is to force kids to recite a pledge of allegiance every morning before they're even old enough to understand it? If you want allegiance, you build a country that's worth of it.

It was never bad luck. Yes, I'm sure there physical changes that contribute to a person's susceptibility to these kinds of scams, but can we talk about the moral obligation of social media sites to ensure their platforms aren't being used this way? It should be a legal obligation as well.

No offense, but this seems like a lot of pat-yourself-on-the-back commentary (the original post, not necessarily you). Bluesky was better than twitter by far even before it stopped being invite-only, and it was because the people are nicer.

Also, leadership has nothing to do with facts and logical judgement. Leadership is more closely related to having the ability to bring others together in pursuit of a common goal.

lol, what is this bull crap I'm reading? Nobody is more emotional than a man. We haven't had a woman President yet because the misogyny in this country runs deep. Your comment is a perfect example of what I mean.

There are A LOT of campaign promises that will never happen. Mostly the good things. Like lower prices and such. This man lied his ass off to get elected and many people are going to pay the price.

Good morning! Revolutionary Girl Utena tops the list for me, it's a timeless masterpiece. My Roommate is a Cat earned a spot on this list as well for tugging so well at the heart strings and just generally being an adorable show. 🐈

This is so real. A while back some friends of mine got into the crafting stuff and it was just too much for me. Crafters are just wired different i guess.
