And you would think. Given the natural characteristics of poetry. That at least some modern published poets would be of the more “doom and gloom” inclination. Upset, angry, morose, resigned.

Which isn’t to say those books are bad. I own some of those.
But poetry is such a good written medium for expressing emotions. Something about its rhythm and structural constraints just sorta forces writers to have to carefully craft each line, pick each word.
