Lots of emphasis on energy security these days, but these plans would also improve food security. A lower-emissions diet (the CCC suggests 35% reduction in meat and dairy consumption by 2050) is good for health, economy and food security theconversation.com/the-uk-must-...

The statistical survey book is useful because lots of the figures go back to 1860s, sometimes for whole UK. It only goes up to the 1980s, though, but helpful for understanding some of the big post war changes in a broader historical context.
