I don't know who this guy is but he's absolute right.

OTD in 2022 we bombed the Babi Yar holocaust memorial. We are denazifying Ukraine by bombing holocaust memorials and killing holocaust survivors. Ukraine ofc deserves this for provoking us by putting their border near our army.

Yesterday, the streets of Chicago were filled with Ukrainian flags. Thank you to everyone who stands with #Ukraine! 📹: dem4yna/Instagram

National Security Overview 2025 by Finnish Security & Intelligence Service (Supo) was published today. An aggressive and expansionist Russia is prepared to use all means to achieve its political goals, and remains the primary threat to Finland’s national security.

I think it's important to remember, with everything extremely fucked up and dumb right now, that at the root of it, fuck fuck fucking fucking fuck.

Are there any other examples of times when reality breaks grammar and we just have to deal with it? Example: Zero...it's a number so it has to be singular or plural, but since it isn't singular or plural, we just made it plural. "There are zero marbles."

No one in DC can bargain in good faith with Trump because he will not follow laws passed by Congress. No one internationally can bargain in good faith with Trump because he will not respect agreements made by the United States. Being a counterparty just makes you a target for another shakedown.

The cessation of US aid to Ukraine today was not a surprise or unplanned. Even before the complete pause of U.S. aid, the number of U.S. supply flights delivering equipment for Ukraine appears to have steadily slowed over the past month. Average flights cratered over the last week.

The Dow Jones is loving Trump's announcement.

Reading the tealeaves, or rather the seating plan, flag placement, photo lineup and other sundry nonverbal cues, some experienced Finnish colleagues like the sadly Blueskyless Stefan Forss are deducing that the "European Plan" for Ukraine is in fact largely a Stubb Plan worked out the day before.

Great news for money launderers!

US media focusing on Zelensky's suit speaks of how unserious American political culture is. Forget the suit. Stop talking about the man. This is not about him but the people he represents. Ukraine needs security guarantees. Stop treating politics and international diplomacy as a spectator sport.

HEY EVERYONE REMEMBER WHEN TRUMP WAS IMPEACHED FOR DENYING AID TO UKRAINE BECAUSE HE WANTED ZELENSKY TO LIE AND SAY BAD THINGS ABOUT BIDEN AND ZELENKSY WOULDN’T DO IT? Maybe literally one fucking American newspapers could mention this in their, “think pieces,” about what happened yesterday.

@mcfaulmike.bsky.social: “Trump, Vance & others either have forgotten or never knew that Zelensky signed a ceasefire agreement with Putin in 2019. Three years later, Putin launched his full-scale invasion. So, signing another ceasefire with no security guarantees feels like suicide for Ukrainians.”

He didn't wear a suit, but he received a pardon and was treated better than Zelenskyy was.

Looking beautiful Time Square. 🇺🇦

I think Biden's biggest domestic political miscalculation, like Obama before him, was not forcefully taking credit for policies that improved Americans' material conditions. People need to be told to be grateful. "I gave this to you. Say thank you." Trump, unfortunately, gets this.

It’s insane to think that the Trump administration was more welcoming this week to the Tate brothers than to the President of Ukraine.

The Daily Mail is Super in the tank for TRUMP so This is actually kind of surprising.

After yesterday's events in the White House, Haltbakk Bunkers, one of Norway's largest marine fuel companies, appears to have announced that it will no longer refuel American Navy vessels. Haltbakk has called on other European companies to refuse service to American forces.

The US Embassy in Stockholm has removed the ”We Stand with Ukraine” banner that has hung on its walls for 3 years. Shame.

Hungary’s Orban has called for the EU to start direct talks with Russia on a ceasefire in Ukraine. Pretty soon the EU is going to have to find a solution to the Fifth Columnist in its midst.

Morning Bluesky. Zelenskyy is en route to London ahead of meeting European leaders to discuss defence and security plans at a summit tomorrow.

From who else but Nate Silver. Incredible work

US Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) Core Deflator slowed to 2.6% last month, as expected, from 2.8% the prior month. The three-month annualized rate held steady at 2.4% and the six-month annualized rate was also 2.6% #inflation #EconSky

Worrisome: The latest data show real personal spending fell by the most since 2021.

Next year, the EU will require cars to have buttons & dials -- not just touchscreens -- to get a top safety rating. This is a great move. Drivers can fiddle with knobs & buttons without taking their eyes off the road, but they can't do that with touchscreens. (Even better: Tesla will hate this)

I am really frustrated that the press is discussing the destruction of USAID as something that has happened rather than an illegal action that will likely be undone in two weeks when courts tell the world that it was illegal.

Swedish intelligence FRA annual report of 2024 is out (in SWE) More threats directed against Sweden, security situation has become even more serious during the year fra.se/nyheter/nyhe...

It’s horrifying that it’s come to this, but as someone with a deep affinity for Europe I feel moved seeing that continent come together to try to save itself in the absence of any meaningful aid from the totalitarian regime that’s in the midst of taking over the United States through an illegal coup

Excellent and interesting thread

Georgescu deploying the Musk Signal to get some attention from his fellow travellers.

💥 BREAKING: At John Deere's annual shareholders meeting today, shareholders overwhelmingly rejected an anti-DEI proposal brought by the same group that targeted Costco and Apple. An anti-DEI proposal from the NCPPR received less than 1 percent of votes. Deere shareholders: DEI is in. Bigots are out

Another one of Trump walking away with significantly less than he asked for (or even less than originally agreed, as in Mexico’s case) ? Seems that regarding no. 3, Trump is exceptionally bad at this

Shareholders have rejected a bid by the conservative think tank National Center for Public Policy Research to force Apple to ditch its DEI program which the NCPPR claims is “more radical than most corporate DEI programs”. Apple recommended shareholders vote against the bid.

True hero.

Putin’s lifelong dream was to somehow separate the US from NATO. But how to break up a strong alliance that stood for 80 years and continued to expand? There really was only one way to do it, he figured it out a decade ago, and played the long game. Now his guy will do it.

Random foreign actor: send us all your deets by tonite. Military leaders: Who the fuck is this guy? Don't do it. Obey the chain of command. Random foreign actor: Have you ever witnessed such INCOMPETENCE and CONTEMPT for how YOUR TAXES are being spent?

MORE: Kremlin officials formally rejected the possibility of a ceasefire on any terms other than the complete capitulation of Ukraine and the West on February 24, further underscoring Russia's unwillingness to make compromises during future peace negotiations. (1/2) isw.pub/UkrWar022425

An ad put up at a bus stop in London today.

Fictional take, but I take it.

This morning at Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HQ in DC as mandatory return to office began, this video played on loop for ~5 mins on screens throughout the building, per agency source. Building staff couldn’t figure out how to turn it off so sent people to every floor to unplug TVs.
