Newsletter due from school tomorrow (private but not catholic), new Principal started this year. I will see red if there is political lobbying in it! (Warren Truss is on the board of our school)

This is definitely not my wheel house but I read or heard recently that tariffs on China are a bigger risk to the Australian economy than tariffs on Australia. Is that correct?

It’s like they believe more communication is the answer, rather than quality communication.

I would never use that term, it’d be like saying as ugly as a rainbow - just doesn’t work.

Back when I used to watch Q&A they would have ‘youth’ special episodes and I say with great confidence that you would have got a significantly better contribution than that from a high school student.

Also he’s a mayor who is intelligent, articulate and very active in the community (a rarity I’m sure many would agree)

Hervey Bay was moved out of the warning zone a couple of days before TC Alfred hit SEQ. Forecast was for 40mm rain that day, got 300mm.

Plenty of them, I made the mistake of reading Facebook comments on a couple of ‘news’ articles.

Is it a state to state thing? My husband (50) has always said Math (from VIC). I’m QLD (41) and have always said Maths 🤔 And he would pull me up as being incorrect, so was glad to see this post!

I’ve heard some interesting things at polling booths too. Only people with property should be able to vote, was one I heard from a bunch of LNP members at last year’s council election plus I heard one helper telling voters if they voted for <name> he’d sort out the waiting times at polling booths 🤦🏼♀️

Interesting! I have suspected for a few years that maybe I have aphantasia and when explaining to my husband how I experience mental images (to compare to him) the only way I could describe it is that I don’t see a mental image but I know in theory what it is supposed to look like 🤔

I think it might be because they keep getting rewarded for it. If memory serves me correctly Abbott(?) went to the election with f**k all policies and nothing costed. I feel like Morrison wasn’t much better. Compared to Shorten who actually provided detail to the voters 🤷🏼♀️

Yes! One of my first thoughts last week, how can Australia encourage the smartest, most talented Americans to up and leave the US and move here, a huge opportunity! (at the expense of the US people unfortunately)

Similar happening here, I wish Australians would see this as a cautionary tale as our Federal Election approaches (next 3 months)!
