AOC running for President makes a point but guarantees a Republican victory.

And then we'll have JD Vance to worry about. I think he would be worse.

By saying he is a "good man" do you mean it's OK to kill Palestinians at will?
comment in response to

Scott Dworkin, this is a misguided campaign. Have you considered the consequences? If Trump is removed, then JD Vance would be President. That would be worse. And the problem isn't Trump, it is the Republicans in Congress. They let this happen, and they continue to let it happen.

They will wait until it is over to take a stand. A different kind of cowardice.

NO NO NO! Then we'll have JD Vance. He will be worse. I could, though, be in favor of replacing the Republican members of Congress. They are letting all this happen even while they have the power to stop it.

I follow you for your photos of mushrooms, which are outstanding.

So...an opposite view, from respectable publication, is abhorrent to you?

You didn't use enough acronyms in your post. Please remember that we don't all live in your world, but that we do want to understand your comments. Acronyms are the enemy of clarity.

You're blaming the customer.

We have to show our date of birth to pick up a prescription at the pharmacy. It's an identity check. Is this requirement really onerous enough to require a lawsuit?

Not all of us live on your world, but we would still like to understand your comments. What is NEHHOR? (Acronyms are the enemy of clarity)

That is so easy to say. It's pages and pages and pages. And it usually isn't in common English. Maybe the people that write this stuff could help us out.
comment in response to

Also....the problem isn't Trump so much. The problem is Congress. They have the power to stop his madness, and just won't do it. They would rather let the country drain away rather than show some courage.

If Trump left, we'd have JD Vance as President. That should scare us more.

FOUR? You're trying to make a point because four people left?

Human space exploration has to be the most expensive possible way to learn about our solar system.

THIS is the correct response to the idea that we must save jobs that have no real use.

Please stop using acronyms. We regular people don't know what you're talking about. If you want to reach a wider audience, write out the words. Acronyms are the enemy of clarity. (I looked it up, but shouldn't have to).

And what is AAPI? Please stop using acronyms. They dilute your message because many won't stop to look it up. . Acronyms are the enemy of clarity.

Shipping numbers are flying around like deflating balloons. There is a lot of partial and misleading information about declines in arrivals. I'm only listening to your numbers. Thanks for posting!

NPR is delivering on it's pledge to 'speak with many voices'. Interviewing a person with right-leaning views isn't agreeing with them. It is finding out what they are thinking.

I wonder what Stephen Miller would be doing if he didn't work for Trump. Is there a market for his 'skills' ?

HE isn't working on it. No doubt this is a taxpayer expense. Which is OK in his mind because it is for him.

The Congressional leaders (and judges) that get paid to protect us and the Constitution are so timid. They seem afraid to be leaders. Maybe they are in the wrong profession--but that doesn't explain why they are willing to sell their souls rather than lose the job.

Kentucky accepts a marriage license for the upgraded drivers license. It can be awkward. My wife brought in hers in a large frame. They accepted it.

I had to look up what 'AFT' is. (American Federation of Teachers). I think you lose a lot of people when you use acronyms. The message ends up sort of flat.

Yes. One trouble with sarcasm is that, in short replies, it depends on the reader knowing a lot about the subject. We don't all know a lot about the subject!

Is the executive order cover real? And if it isn't, you are guilty of gross misinformation. (and if it is real, let's have some more information about it ! )

And then the President would be....Mike Johnson, the Speaker of the U.S. House. That would not make things better.

It's not the condition of his body that worries me. We all have some kind of physical issue and we all adapt to that. ( and I thought Democrats say that we shouldn't tease a person because of a disability ! ) The condition of his brain is what concerns me the most.

And then the President would be JD Vance. He's worse, because he is intelligent. Our defense against Trump is that he's an idiot.

I agree with you, we'll be in much worse shape. And our ethics are being shattered, the soul of our country is being stomped on. But "irretrievably" is so incorrect. Many countries have come back from political disaster (Germany, Japan, Italy).

In some ways the Democratic Party has been splintered for decades. It's just that we've somehow been able to elect Presidents and Congresses.

So the right wing reads this and says "great !" This fulfills their goal of divide and conquer. Take a look at Canadian history. Trudeau was elected because the left decided to get together as one, rather than presenting two separate parties.

What is SEIU? When I see reports/comments that use acronyms, I get the feeling that the speaker doesn't want the reader to know what's happening. Not all of your readers are elites.

But then we get JD Vance. Our defense against Trump is that he is an idiot. Vance has the same (or worse) politics but he is intelligent.

Feed cost for a backyard flock, 30 years ago, were about $.50 per egg. My grocery store this week had eggs at just under $.50 per egg. PLUS all those backyard chickens can also get bird flu, and allow the virus to migrate to humans that much easier.

I agree, except for the 'did not exist' part. If Trump dies in office, we get JD Vance. Our defense against Trump is that he's an idiot. Vance has the same politics, but is intelligent.

THIS is what I think "elites" means. Moss is one of them. They are talking to their buddies. Most of us don't know what the hell they are talking about.

You control your eyes and ears. You can go to one news, and skip the other 79. That is up to you.

The price of eggs has NOTHING to do with politics or any other governmental decisions. It has to do with dead chickens due to disease. Less chickens = less eggs = higher egg prices. Trying to score political point with this problem is childish.

Today I'm sowing kale, swiss chard, petunias, verbena and dianthus. All varieties that I can set on the patio later, because they all withstand cold and even light frost. On bad nights I cover the outside flats with blankets. This is much easier and cheaper than having a greenhouse.
