Please therapists I know this isn’t how we are trained at all, but PLEASE stop rushing to start EMDR with clients It’s retraumatizing people and making them scared of somatic work Could someone start EMDR in 2 weeks? Sure. SHOULD they though?

When you notice your body responding to these triggers, getting anxious or angry or shutting down: That’s your sign to pause. Your body needs you right now. You can come back with a clearer mind after you attend to yourself

Listen to me y’all: Always fit a protein into your depression meals. ALWAYS Plant-based, animal, idc. Your brain NEEDS protein to deal with what you are dealing with If you are dealing with triggers & traumas, put a protein in all your meals to reduce the cortisol (stress hormone) in your body

Not for nothing, I’m not arguing with people about food A lot of people have disordered eating (systemically encouraged btw) and are so focused on eating arbitrarily “healthy” foods that they are not in good relationship with their bodies and/or police others unnecessarily
