The whole yuppie goal is upward mobility, centered on the glorification of the individual, the culture of getting yours, being a winner. It’s inherently conservative, and especially with post-2008 desperation, easily threatened.

Nationally, we had a good run of presidents being Good President Ages from Clinton through Obama (Bush Jr. was a layabout for other reasons of course), and then people were like “I don’t know, I haven’t known Kamala Harris’s name for the entire time my college-aged kid was alive, doesn’t feel right”

I think it’s just a wave; my tastes changed a lot so stuff I ranked high then, I don’t hold close now. Some lists may need revising. But I thought about doing A HIDDEN LIFE instead of THE NEW WORLD, and usually I go THE MASTER over PDL but I just rewatched PDL and it’s playing to my current tastes.

I use a Pro through work and own an Air and aside from the ports (which are negligible ‘cause you can get dongles for anything) I’d never be able to tell the difference between what they can do. Highly recommend the Air.

Evans can still play 37 to me. If Johnson’s playing her age (35), that seemed to track with her character. Maybe could shave characters down a few years and it’d track slightly better but 15? Johnson’s character sure isn’t 20. Do agree we need more young stars who can sell this type of stuff though.
