I’m 25 and while I watched Speed Racer as a kid, Robotech was the first anime I REALLY got invested in. Then probably Cowboy Bebop. But I wept at the ending to the Macross Saga, I’d bought the series on DVD from a closing blockbuster and finished it in a weekend.

It’s specifically diphenhydramine
Here’s a good roundup of info on it. (12ft ladder will jump this paywall)

I'm sorry but I'm pivoting to Krypto. I'm all about NFTs now: nice fluffy terriers

Depends on what the pewpew stick is for I suppose. If it’s for fighting off bigots, you’re gonna want to be up to date on what self defense laws in your local jurisdiction are, as they can vary wildly. If it’s for anything related to government actors, a pew pew is pretty useless.

So much Lower Decks ❤️ here. Yay! It is one of my fav things ever. Wish it was never coming to an end. Like, ever. Would watch it even after achieving warp speed.

This is not the god among men that is Superfriends Hal Jordan! Where is the strong chin? Where is his beautiful olive skin? His excellent hair?

To answer your Sulu with a Sulu:
“Are you kidding?”

I’m assuming homophobia, given Berman would’ve been in control at the time. And probably not wanting to undercut Shatner’s ego.

I read one novel that had Captain Sulu in it in middle school and I’ve forever been transfixed by the idea

It’s right up there for me! I think my only bugbear is that I wish we had a full series set during it.
That Captain Sulu show would make it perfect.

Yeah, but J’onn’s just saying it to be supportive.
Max is self-conscious.

I'll tell you this much for free: AGI won't be silicon.
We're approaching the limits of what silicon can do, it's got maybe a decade before we can't improve it any more, and quantum is decades away from viability, if ever.
It *cannot* be done with our technology. Can. Not.

I get very tired of seeing otherwise allegedly intelligent people keep swallowing this "AI" nonsense, especially people who are hired to write facts for a living yet don't understand a goddamn thing about a goddamn thing.
If you still buy in you're a liar, a fool, or both.

Yes, it reminds me of that analogy George Lucas gave for filmmaking being like professional gambling.

I heard this in Sam Jackson’s voice in Revenge of the Sith when he said “A Sith Lord?”
A Max Lord?

Don’t be a Robert Meyer Burnett, don’t be a rage tourist, find the joy in what you love and explore that meaning for yourself.
Better living through superheroes, better living through curiosity, better living through love.

All you have to do is stop and ask yourself “what do these things mean to me?”
And for me, I realized they are an extension of how I view the world. It’s all about love, caring for others, being there for others when they need you, curiosity, understanding, the triumph of love over hate.

I can name almost every member of the Justice League, I can visually identify almost every Star Trek ship class, and I have seen most every classic Who serial at least once (reconstructions can be hard) and I just realized that it’s not about dropping these things to grow. You don’t have to do that.

I say this because I recently came across a quote Alan Moore gave when he received an award for Swamp Thing, then recounted my own somewhat recent experience at a Doctor Who signing and realizing that bigoted behavior and people not touching grass tend to frequently go hand in hand.
