Having only just come across @thebreadwyrm.bsky.social I'm already stoked for this to drop. The illustrations being posted in the lead up are just 🧑‍🍳👌💋 www.kickstarter.com/projects/tan...

A TTRPG made by some folks I know goes live on BackerKit in just a couple hours! If you like urban fantasy with a grimdark vibe, then definitely check it out! www.backerkit.com/call_to_acti...

I just finished up this free dungeon adventure for @shatteredlabspress.bsky.social! It’s for Tales of the Valiant, and you can check it out here: www.shatteredlabspress.com/blog/dp7-wha...

Same! I’ve run TTRPGs for many Skyrim fans (some even based their characters off their Skyrim avatars), but I feel like I showed up to the Skyrim party too late in life. It’s just too much game for me to ever hope to complete.

So glad you had a great last session with your players! Ending a campaign of any length is an achievement. Congrats!

Though pretty standard in the hobby, I’ve spent WAY too much money on minis and terrain, even though I don’t have the time to paint any of them lol. I’ve also incorporated props and authentic-looking handouts, depending on the game.

One of the most interesting facts I learned last year about the history of the Star Wars films was when Empire came out, there were a group of fans that complained and left because it didn’t match their expectations for the sequel. So-called Star Wars “purists” have been around since the beginning.

The horrifying sequel to “Squirrels in my Pants”

I recommend giving it a go if you’re passionate about it because the price is really accessible. It’s just a hard instrument to make sound good right away. My dog still gives me weird glances when I practice haha

Really well! As always, the players went a different direction than I anticipated, so I gave some clues out I wasn’t planning. Everyone seemed like they had fun, and they’re excited for part 2!

I love me some firenewts! They’re just weird little guys

My bet is he will reappear in the Mandalorian & Grogu movie. Especially if Kelleran Beq will be returning in a Grogu flashback.

“You caught me. I don’t actually work here.”

Yeah, a lot of my D&D games are also sponsored by sugar and/or caffeine. Good luck!

Not sure what your morning has been like, but I wanted to offer a little encouragement. Life often gets in the way, but I often find that doing something creative and spending time with friends is almost always worth the effort. It’s a gift that not everyone gets to experience. You’ve got this!

Major bummer dude. At least she went out in a blaze of glory!

Yep, seems natural of goblins to want to know what’s going on underground

Is Trail of Cthulhu similar to the Down Darker Trails setting for Call of Cthulhu?

I agree in that it’s an oversimplified way to communicate in the game’s story that a creature is “boss level” or just really powerful. @slyflourish.com just released an article this week offering a variant called Dark Blessings, which is based on Tales of the Valiant’s doom points. Worth a read!

Great idea for an Underdark campaign!

I like the idea of taking the first step or giving players options of what to do, I think that’s a great idea. Thanks!

The gold incentive is an interesting option! I think I maybe marketed it too much as a place to do side stuff as opposed to a continuation of the story.

Currently experiencing the same thing after I ran a Star Wars one-shot earlier this year. Quicker, easier, more seductive is the path to starting a new campaign.

Yep, definitely has happened to me. Allowed one player to reroll a persuade by saying “please”, they rolled a 20. Now they never. stop. asking.

(9/?) Probably the one I feel the most guilt for having not played is Star Wars: Edge of the Empire. I’ve owned the Starter Set for a while, but have been unable to find more of the game because of lack of stock. This year I was able to find the core rulebook + 2 sets of the dice, so maybe soon!

(8/?) Another one on the pile of shame is Monster of the Week. I picked this up during GrandCon 2023. I’d still love to do a Supernatural/Dresden Files inspired game, but haven’t found the time to run it.

As a marketer, I feel like I already get a bad rap, so I’d like to think in the Star Wars galaxy I’d work for Star Tours promoting different interstellar vacations.

(7/?) I got this one recently, so I don’t feel too bad about not playing it yet. This is May You Fish in Interesting Times, and it’s about birds catching fish and remembering a failed rebellion. It’s the only GM-less game I own. The art is beautiful and I hope to play this one soon.
