Malcolm X was assassinated 60 years ago today. His words are as relevant as ever RIP 🖤

I heard someone compare Trump’s mass firings to him being a bull in a china shop. I disagree. Trump is a like a bull in a VA hospital. Trump is like a bull in an assisted living facility. Trump is like a bull in an Alzheimer’s research center. Trump is like a bull in a NICU.

Months ago I started posting about the importance of monitoring state childhood vaccine requirements for school entry. I cannot emphasize this enough. States decide which vaccines are required. Anti-vaxxers are organized and will appear at state legislative hearings and repeat lies with hubris.

There is really only one thing standing between your community and outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases, and that thing is childhood vaccine requirements for school entry. The Texas outbreak clearly shows what happens when exemptions to vaccine requirements are handed out like candy.

Every University has a stable of lawyers and together they will form a thundering herd. The indirect cost cap, if left in place, could take down entire university towns. Every dollar of NIH funding returns $2.46 in economic activity. www.nih.gov/about-nih/wh...

An irony of the push to lower overhead rates on grants to reduce waste / fraud is that a significant amount of overhead goes to “grant compliance” because of a Bush II focus on grant oversight. Every university has a huge office filled with staff ensuring no grant dollar goes where it’s not allowed.

So it turns out that compared to centralized distribution of digital information on the web, printed material in libraries provided a kind of distributed defense against the casual whims of an authoritarian government aiming to rewrite history.
