A HOME RUN WITH RUNNERS ON? IN THIS ECONOMY? #Brewers

Why on earth did the Reds 1B field that ball?!?!?

Did Joey Ortiz just sac bunt ahead in the count 2-1? Please, someone tell me: 1) That was him freelancing 2) Someone will tell him to knock it off

Rock may be right about the idea that hitters have adjusted back with flatter swings more atuned to hitting the high fastball instead of a more "launch angle" approach, but is that actually good for the game? Do we want a game built around making this kind of contact consistently? I dunno.

So this was what Patrick looked like through his first couple of appearances. Threw one of his three fastballs 92% of the time. Today? 29 Cutters 24 4-Seamers 8 Sinkers 2 Changeups Fastball Patty!

#Brewers starting pitching situation right now makes me think of that scene in Apollo 13 right after the explosion where everyone in the control room is yelling out what's broken and Ed Harris stops everyone and says "let's approach this from a standpoint of status. What do we have that works?"

The Brewers have promoted Grant Wolfram for his major league debut. This is the closest thing we'll ever get to Tungsten Arm O'Doyle, enjoy him while he's here.

Ah shit.

This is the Final Four we deserve.

This is Utah in case anyone’s wondering how pissed off people are. I have never seen anything like this.

Dikembier Sanchez pitching alert.

@benlindbergh.bsky.social “Next topic: floor to ceiling windows, I don’t like them” sounded like a Dana Carvey doing John McLoughlin on SNL lol

Letson is done after throwing 60 pitches. Ran into a little trouble in the 4th, walked his last two batters faced. Before that he was quite good, striking out 4 and allowing just one hit that was promptly erased with a double play. #Brewers

Records show the entire Illinois men’s basketball team reported just $9,100 in NIL deals during the 2023-24 season. Meanwhile, the average earnings reported for a male basketball player in the four biggest conferences were more than $145K/year. By @stacystclair.bsky.social & @jodiscohen.bsky.social

Fooling around on Ump Scorecards and it would appear that the #Brewers hitters are doing just fine in terms of the zone they're getting (+0.17 runs) but have gotten the second worst zone (-1.81 runs) on the pitching side. Trying to think of any other explanation for this other than bad framing?

Well that's unfortunate

With the #Brewers starting pitching situation largely compromised through April, but looking much better after that, if they can just stick around .500 for the next few weeks it'll be a solid outcome.

the brewers haven’t lost a game since

Legit question whether you’d rather go through what the #Brewers did last weekend giving up the HR barrage or what the Reds are going through right now, I think.
