It’s a modest proposal apparently to ask that the trump administration take invading Mexico off the table.

I repeat, if you or a loved one was recently fired from the federal government during your probationary period, and the reason you were given was poor performance, please reach out to us at www.centerforemploymentjustice.com. We have a plan and may be able to help you.

So they removed the black chairman of the Joint Chiefs in the middle of his 4-year tour, without cause, and they're seeking to replace him with a white **retired** Air Force three-star general who lacks the requisite experience as a service chief or combatant commander? Huh, how about that

“We had to erase trans people or we couldn’t get our federal funding” Fuck the federal funding. You fight, you sue, you do not become complicit in our mass erasure. We are all in this together, and we all go down together. I will not allow us to be jettisoned or erased.

Illinois looks very different in 2025 than it did in 2019. We've passed six balanced budgets with nine credit upgrades, invested in education, driven economic growth, strengthened our social safety network, reformed the criminal justice system, and rebuilt our infrastructure.

Reproductive freedom is at risk in Wisconsin. MAGA extremist Brad Schimel wants to enforce a 175-year-old abortion ban. We can protect abortion rights (and the liberal majority on the Wisconsin Supreme Court) by electing Susan Crawford. Take action: indivisible.org/scow...

Teachers teach. We need a leaderful movement, and there are leaders all around us.

Representative Bryan Steil (R-WI in hiding) has thoughts about Illinois’s Governor. Cute.

Agree with both Mushed (great read) and @jamisonfoser.bsky.social - “There’s value in showing them that we aren’t all going along with this bullshit.”

counterpoint: WE DON’T HAVE KINGS IN AMERICA AND I DO NOT INTEND TO BEND THE KNEE TO ONE is a profoundly more effective message than whatever this farting around is, go listen to the great khan of the plains

It is shameful that RAINN, representing sexually abused people, erased trans people because they are scared of Trump. To any org censoring themselves: you cannot jettison trans to save yourself. Yes, if you don't, other groups may suffer, and you might too. But we are all in this together.

Everyone in the Trump coalition voted for someone to get got. Most of them didn’t realize that they were that someone to someone else.

More than anything, they do not want jobs that anyone can rely upon, thrive in, and enjoy.

Temperature blanket may be hard to keep up with later this year, but right now it’s a good distraction from…everything.

The geniuses at the Democratic Party settling on “maybe we were too woke” rather than “a cabal of billionaire pedophile Nazis are stealing your money and taking a sledgehammer to your future” is astonishing. Just one of those things

Without going all Martin Niemöller here, I do think that it's bad not to speak up for immigrants, transgender Americans, civil servants, women, Ukraine, and everyone else the MAGA bullies are going after. We're beyond picking and choosing whom to defend. It's time to stand up and speak out.

Robin Vos: thank you to UW-Madison for inviting me to speak about how people like me are not allowed to speak at universities

UK critic @markbeaumont.bsky.social (from Enfield, apparently) understood Kendrick's halftime show 10000x better than @nytimes.com and @joncaramanica did www.independent.co.uk/arts-enterta...

Congressperson John Lewis, whose ‘good trouble’ they love to quote so much, was arrested 45 times in his life. The last was in 2013 protesting for immigrants, during the Obama presidency.

My reps stand by and let things happen. An unelected billionaire has access to my data and is engaged in a slow rolling takeover of my government and I feel like a chump for filing and paying my taxes. I hate everything about the failure of all of this.

This profile has been scrubbed from the site. Rose Ferreira grew up without reliable electricity, immigrated to NY, then survived homelessness and cancer on her way to NASA. She was so moved by images from the Webb telescope she wept. This is what’s at stake web.archive.org/web/20231206...

BREAKING: We’re suing the Trump administration for refusing to issue passports with accurate sex designations for transgender, nonbinary, and intersex people. This action violates the Constitution.

This really sucks. Except I saw it in Wisconsin with the Republican power politics and Act 10. And that’s before we get to the evangelicals I used to associate with. Not a principled or ethical one in the bunch.

the fucking enforcement arm of the federal government is launching a war on integration an effort to push tens of millions of americans to the bottom of an arbitrary hierarchy of value and yeah, it pisses me off to see nominal allies say “oh yeah maybe they have a point”

“Flesh filled Aesop fable about the downfalls of greed” - arguably amazing framing. No notes @somemorenews.bsky.social
