Nicholas was a hard worker (to everyone's detriment) so it doesn't quite work, but the way they both are willing to blow up everything to keep a job they obviously hate doing definitely rings true

Non-fiction, but I was reading zinky boys and couldn't get over how poetic but brutally self aware the subjects were. Tractor factory workers who spent a few years smuggling bootleg Levis and doing ultraviolence in Afghanistan cramming more honesty in their 6 pages than anything I've read here
