May the force be with us!

So if we are going to have a King, shouldn't we go with the actual royal blood one who is married to an American citizen? Just sayin.

For my fellow music nerds 😉🤦🏻‍♂️😂 #Prince

In troubling times, people experiencing high stress or crippling anxiety deal with it in different ways. Some have a therapist, some have a deep breathing exercise & some even have a personal mantra. I have a Mabel.

No reasonable adult human feels this isn't going terribly.

Look over there - squirrel!

Big Costco fan here, even prior to all the recent events.

Hans Island is disputed territory between Canada & Denmark. The militaries of both countries periodically visit to remove the other guy's flag and leave a bottle of Danish schnapps or Canadian whiskey. This is what happens when nice countries "fight."

Mood this week.

Over the next few years, do your best to keep moving forward.

2017 Washington Post slogan: “Democracy Dies in Darkness” 2025 Washington Post mission statement: “Riveting Storytelling for All of America” I’d say it looks like dusk has indeed arrived. To quote from a great Dylan song, “It’s not dark yet, but it’s gettin’ there.”

Brilliant!

Relevant then, relevant now.

To all the #firefighters You are ALL #heroes Every single one Thank you for all that u do, every day....everywhere 🙏🫶 #grateful

Several times a day, I discover I'm carrying around a backpack full of rocks. And then I realize I can simply...put it down. A short thread on my rage in 2025. 🧵

The censorship algorithm on Twitter reduced our audience by roughly 95%, and seriously, who does that to a wildlife biology & advocacy group ? So we moved 😇 over here to BlueSky If you could, please help us regain our following Follow Retweet and Repeat ;-) Together we can change the world.

Good Night. Extra tired today.

"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others” For me, nobody epitomizes this quote better than Jimmy Carter. Rest in peace, good Sir. May your character, compassion and deeds inspire generations to understand the true meaning of a life well lived.

Happy Festivus everyone. Always amazed this crazy episode birthed a real celebration that seems to be enjoyed by so many around the world. So may your feats be strong and your grievances few. Enjoy.

I don’t know who made this but great job

A little piece of knowledge that touched me years ago when I first heard about it: In Japan, people who arrive early to work park further away from the entrance so that those who arrive later can arrive on time. Our world needs more of this lived compassion. Much, much more.

Some folks are pretty good seeing things coming.

Living the dream.

Saw someone upbraiding someone else for having a hobby while the world is on fire, and, my friends: 1. The world is ever on fire, this is today's conflagration; 2. If you don't find time for rest and joy the fire will consume you; 3. Don't let people shame you for being an entire human.

Thelma Johnson…where art thou?

I keep reading that this is a place for kinder people, but gentle souls have always been among us. We just couldn’t hear them anymore. Perhaps our gathering here is proof that we missed those voices. What a wonderful thing to believe about ourselves. It can be a bold move to choose kindness.

Thou shalt not pretend that wanting everyone to have healthcare is “radical.”

I’m thankful for everyone using Bluesky, everyone building on atproto, everyone listening to our message and sharing our dream of a better social media ecosystem that puts people first. We’re going to do this together — thanks for joining us on this journey!

I’m trying to strike a healthy balance between being informed and being oblivious.

“Bluesky is an echo chamber!” Our Reply: Echo chamber? Nah, we prefer to call it surround sound for facts.

Bluesky now has over 20M people!! 🎉 We've been adding over a million users per day for the last few days. To celebrate, here are 20 fun facts about Bluesky:

One thing I look for in a social network is not to have the CEO shove his reactionary political views in my face every time I open the app. So I’m happy here.

I’m going to say something historians rarely say. We haven’t been here before. We haven’t had a near-authoritarian takeover of our government. Admittedly, we don’t know what comes next. There’s a wide array of options. But know that in the US, this is new ground. And none of this is normal.

Sometimes I wonder what motivates non-coffee drinkers to get out of bed. Probably some sort of pulley system.

Now that I've fled Leon's site for bluer skies, I'm sure I'll be called an #Ex-X, but personally, I'll always consider myself a #TwitterQuitter.

Eleanor Rigby says hang in there everyone. In the end, kindness, intelligence and cool heads always prevail.

Morning, friends. Time to dig back in to all of this. Democracy matters.
