Not read it yet, but you want some overflow or word break on the code examples (it forced your content into a teeeny column)

You do, but (and I need to be at a computer to be 100% on this) the doctors give permission so that you're exempt from prosecution (or along those lines)

I read that it was illegal but generally not prosecuted (that's a hand wavy way of saying: "what you said"). But it shouldn't be a crime at all. I read that the law it stems from was formed in the late(?) 1800s before women could even have a vote (not that it would have made the blindest difference)

I've got a rider that says as much, but as someone with experience, I ask that others are paid as much as I'm offered: remysharp.com/rider

I'm doubly slow at reading non-fiction, but definitely take the recommendation. I read Minority Rule recently (non-fiction) which was excellent: remysharp.com/books/2025/m...

Got ours after @mikehall314.bsky.social called out @jakearchibald.com on the podcast - so yes, direct marketting one person at a time does work!

> programmer trying to argue that "LLMs are actually really useful"
Except that's not what the post is getting at. It's saying X person is "nuts" for buying in - more specifically (as per the (edited) description) shouting down arguments and concerns about LLM supported dev.

I should add, the wild cart cert alone when I was buying it was £500+vat - not huge, but a bit of a dent for a project that runs on a shoestring (…or fumes)

I'm pretty sure it's about not breaking existing implementations, particularly at the time the html5 spec was being worked out (and reverse engineering how browsers did their DOM rendering)

Further on this - it's quite wonderful to watch: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltom...

thought it was to do with the parsing logic in place for `caption`. ie. That tag has to be part of a table and there's rules to how it's rendered. So using it as a caption under an image–the DOM parser would vomit it out elsewhere (or something like that... /cc @brucel.bsky.social @infrequently.org
