Retired after 40+ years of federal service (USAF & Federal contractor). Stationed in UK & West Germany, watched the Berlin Wall come down live on TV; watched the reunification also on TV, saw fireworks on TV but my small German town was totally silent.

The oath you take when enlisting or being commissioned requires you to uphold the constitution, obey lawful orders & defend against all enemies foreign & domestic. I can only pray that the military does not become the tool of our demise as a democracy
