This song caught my ear on the first few listens of ‘Gravity Stairs’. I really like the guitar work and vocal…… kind of a dreamy beach rock vibe. Much heavier sound live, which really sounded great. The video is a trip too, filmed at Piha Beach. 😊🎸🎶

Particularly apt here in America at the moment. ‘Don’t ever let them win…’ 😊🎶

I remember this song being darkly catchy when I first played the album, and thought the three finishing tracks on Side 2 were very unique and distinct from each other. Very much agree with the sense of foreboding masked by the melody and rhythm. 😊🎶

I love this dark tune, it's got a real dystopian under current, It always makes me think of someone on a journey home in the wake of some horrific event.
When Neil Finn toured with Paul Kelly they played a song called Dumb Things? In the Lowlands shares a similar vibes IMHO 🎶🎶🎶

I still listen to this album periodically - some fantastic songs that marked the bands crossover into huge commercial success! 😊🎸🎶

A song of hope and resilience, with a message that is just as powerful now as it was in 1986. Although my favorite CH song is ‘Distant Sun’, ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’ is a timeless masterpiece of a song. 😊🎸🎶

Cool article. I’d put Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band at the top, given it was the original concept album and defined the ‘Summer of Love’ in 1967. 😊 🎶

A song with a timeless melody…. just beautiful. 🎶

I’d love to see how many songs each artist has that contributed to these stats - for example, I bet the Fab 4 have the most songs that have contributed to weeks at #1. 🎸 🎶

I remember upon first listen thinking ‘ooh, this is different!’ A really interesting opening track….. moody and atmospheric. ‘Let the melody reign’ indeed! 😊🎶

One of the tracks on ‘Woodface’ I skip everytime I listen to the album. I find the song very forced. And it pales in comparison to ‘Fall At Your Feet’ and ‘Weather With You’, its direct neighbors on the album. 😊🎸🎶

‘Frost on the window pane, the sound of pouring rain……. all makes me glad of you. Though I am far away, I am always with you.’ What a lyric? 😊🎶
