Not saying we should abandon the elderly or stop caring about people after retirement or anything extreme like that, but there’s valid reasons to treat something killing 20-year-olds as more newsworthy than something killing 70-year-olds.
Dunno how age should best be reflected in the chart though.

I get where you’re going with this, but also, this exact quote could have come from the ADL justifying them accepting the support of bigots like Trump and Musk for their pro-Israel agenda. There is a point at which some people are so far gone that you cannot accept their help, period.

This is a deluded take TBH.
I don’t want to be nihilist and say we can’t ever beat Trump—there *are* ways to erode his support—but we have eight years of proof that nothing Trump *says* will ever be outrageous enough to cost him votes or mobilize idle centrists.

The only pathway to true Jewish safety is solidarity with other groups targeted for violence and repression by Nazis: trans and queer people, immigrants, Black people… and, let’s be extremely clear, definitely Palestinians.
We keep us safe. Musk, Netanyahu and Greenblatt only endanger us.

I hate to respond to these things with “it doesn’t matter” because that’s nihilist and defeatist but also *it doesn’t matter,* the Republican Party has been the part of sex offenders for decades and it’s never moved the electoral needle an inch.

Trump is a serial liar but also a senile idiot so it’s very difficult to tell with him what’s actually a lie and what’s merely delusion.
Good enough they’re calling his claims out as baseless and false, because WaPo has a godawful track record of doing that.

Jew here. He is 100% correct and way too many of my fellow Jews need to hear it. The ADL is utterly compromised and has betrayed its mission and its people in the most fundamental way possible.

Seems like whatever you were quoting was embarrassing enough they deleted it. Is there a screenshot?

The madness of being a reasonably observant Democrat is seeing, every single cycle, the same people say “I would simply [do the thing we did last cycle],” and then when it doesn’t work, get mad, because they must not have done the thing. What if… your ideas about how this all works are just bad

A decade ago, I briefly out of morbid curiosity and misplaced faith in humanity joined R/TheDonald. I saw a post claiming that the left refused to allow dissent in their communities. I posted a screenshot of R/Thedonald's rule 2, *literally*, 2. "No dissent."
They instabanned me.

Why are you reporting on this now and not two weeks ago?

Aiming for the appearance of balance *always* favors the bad guys, because reporting factually that the bad guys are bad guys will appear unbalanced.

Because Trump’s own staff called him fascist and he admitted on TV to multiple felonies and that’s just in the past 72 hours, and instead of covering that they’re skeeting this pablum.

As nice as the fantasy is, a Dem appointee pressing new charges on Trump weeks before the election is the *best* possible outcome for him—nothing could be better at motivating his conspiracy-minded, oppression-manufacturing base and moving them to vote.

Why are you reporting on the horse-race story of Kamala campaining on Trump's fascism, rather than reporting on the actual news story, namely: TRUMP'S FASCISM.

Years and years ago I trusted CNN as a neutral and reliable source of news. Those days have passed, as this article plainly demonstrates. Shame on you.

Haven’t they always been able to though? Like it’s an extra step to have a log out or have a dummy account, but it’s a trivial one. Public posts are public after all.

I get why she had to say what she said but also she’s lying. The 50% voting for Trump *are* stupid and/or fascists and she knows it.

This seems to me to be Morton’s fork. Either they’re not engaged in politics, in which case pointing out how politics actually works is a dunk on them; or they’re engaged in politics *and should know better,* in which case ELI5 winner-takes-all elections is a dunk.

It isn’t meant as a dunk? It *should* be meant as a dunk. It’s precisely the problem with most of these protest no-voters.

Never mind how you’re giving a word salad non-answer that could have come straight from Trump defining “socialist”. How do you go from me saying “Biden is the lesser of two evils, Trump can’t be allowed to win” to me being part of a Biden cult?
No, don’t answer, I’m just muting you.
comment in response to

You use “liberal” like right-wingers use “socialist.” You don’t know what it means and you don’t care, it’s just a convenient shorthand for “people on the left I dislike.”
