Your girl over here is looking for handmade ceramic mugs. Something cool and artsy. Where are the ceramicist badasses??

Never been so proud of some Denver folks

"my silly little drawings just feel so irrelevant in the face of the world being on fire" maybe they are. maybe you need to be making something else to meet this moment. maybe that feeling is a call to action.

This is Nazi shit

The one time existential awe hit me I was in a planetarium. We are all incredibly small.

Imagine if we had tech companies run by people like the Arizona Iced Tea guy. "I have a successful business, I'll simply keep doing what I do without pursuing non-stop growth at all costs. Line can stay flat."

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is the latest federal agency to be hit with DOGE layoffs. That's the same agency that has investigated crashes involving Tesla's self-driving cars. This was never about "efficiency."

So Elon Musk wants to gut our government but decided after the backlash that he doesn’t want the blame.

They’re cutting Medicaid

Oh they’re just doing the full-bore McCarthyism

Republicans just dropped their first open attack on women's right to travel. jessica.substack.com/p/montana-bi...

"I never thought leopards would eat MY face," sobbed woman who voted for Leopards Eating People's Faces Party is one thing, but I never anticipated the voters who say, “But eating my face is part of the Leopards’ plan, so I support it"

Anyone could have told you they were planning to feed all of those emails to AI. What else were they going to do? Read the millions of emails they demanded? I don't think anyone believed the DOGE twerps were going to do that. People need to be cognizant of the AI end game for this whole project.

I mean, no kidding it's a conflict of interest. Listen. I know it feels futile calling your reps right now, but I promise it's moving the needle. KEEP. CALLING.

I must join

Dude, this is such a cool use of lenticular printing!!

Make a couple of calls today! 5calls.org/issue/save-a...

Cancer: You will meet your soulmate this week. Congratulations, it’s a lumpy little raccoon wearing a battered top hat.

I scored a community garden plot and the garden organizer is the most energetic asian grandfather. I’m so stoked to learn about gardening through gentle harassment everyday 🌱

Getting back to the joy of maintaining my own digital library of audiobooks, music and ebooks.

Dear Dems. This is a reminder that Donald Trump rescinded the ethics rules preventing gifts to executive branch employees. Now would be a good time to propose legislation formalizing the prevention into a law Time to do things that make him react to you. apnews.com/article/trum...

Stop mass deportations with this one simple trick: wapo.st/41apYFB (gift link)

This also goes for digital books and digital audiobooks you get from the library--they pay for the licenses, and the more copies available at once the more they are paying/"purchasing." Go use Libby and Hoopla, it counts as support!

I've seen an old misunderstanding going around; that libraries don't benefit authors. But they do! A lot! Here's how:

This is how it’s done.

You gotta practice living in the moment. Because a huge thing that will help these guys untimely win is all of us being an anxious wreck all the time.

100% and I need everyone to understand right now that there is only one solution: people need to start getting their asses kicked in public again

Introvert hack: call outside office hours to leave a message and not talk to a person live ✨

Living in a more rural area with a lower cost of living means I can do comics and art full-time. It also means I'm very reliant on the post office to receive stuff I can't purchase locally. Not only would Trump's plans make it untenable to live here, it would also kill MY business - Patreon, etc.

If there's no postal service or public school or social security or art/research grants or national parks or public transit or infrastructure maintenance or welfare for the poor/disabled...what are we even paying fucking taxes for?

I already pretty feral most days, but the news makes me actually feel it.

For all the USPS's faults, Americans have to realize: It's one of the best postal services in the world, even after being kneecapped by DeJoy. Fight for our postal service, guys. I know I will. It is an essential public good.

If the fascists are tech overlords, then our resistance must be fueled by abstaining from consumerism & technology. We must collectively stop empowering them with our eyes, our minds, & our dollars. "I'm gonna tell you fascists, you may be surprised. People in this world are getting organized." 🎶

NEW: Pregnancy became far more dangerous in Texas after the state banned abortion, according to ProPublica’s first-of-its-kind analysis, which found the sepsis rate for women hospitalized as they miscarried in the 2nd trimester shot up by more than 50%. https://propub.li/43487Tj

Watched the most insane looking tech dude use ai to create a design system in “30 minutes” and my immediate thought was that universal income should really be argued for more.

📢 “He’s trying to steal Medicaid to enrich himself. He’s gutting NASA to line his pockets with SpaceX. He’s looting everything good in America for private profit.” - @aoc.bsky.social at today’s #SaveOurServices NYC rally. The fight isn’t over. Join us: go.savepublicservices.com

Just downloaded @5calls.org. My local reps @pattymurray.bsky.social, Maria Cantwell, and @jayapal.house.gov are awesome—and it’s still important to let them know what I want them to fight for. Phone call anxiety is preferable to “collapse of democracy” anxiety any day.

in terms of professions that do indeed owe you something, politician is actually one of the big ones

Years ago, after the Cambridge Analytica scandal, I interviewed a former fb employee, and I remember her continually emphasizing that these tech bros weren't evil geniuses, but were, in fact, dangerous because they were utterly clueless, totally reckless, and had too much power.
