My hope for next year, is someone can make a plugin for Playnite that can do this sort of thing across multiple launchers. I'm finding that I increasingly play games through other launchers. Epic, Game Pass and EA combined likely see as much use as Steam.

The whole trilogy does a big disservice to Finn really. Even TLJ (which I loved) gives him the weakest part. John Boyega is great and deserved to do a lot more with the character.

Loved The Last Jedi. Thought it made the whole sequel trilogy endeavour worth doing. Canto Bight is a weak spot, but everything else was great. The other Disney films are mostly fine (except Rise, which I really disliked), but Rogue One also stands out and comes a close second to TLJ

There Will Be Blood caught fire when I saw it. It was literally right at the end, as Daniel Day Lewis says "I'm finished!" Honestly, it might have been a slightly better ending.

Balatro (or UFO50) will win best indie. Reckon Erdtree will be the Game of the Year (although, as a big From fan, I thought it had quite a few lows along with the highs). Metaphor deserves to do well, but might just miss out on winning big awards (it might get narrative).

It isn't very good (although one of the better ST films starring the Next Gen crew), but I remember seeing this with an aunt and cousins on a trip to Belfast when I was 7. It blew me away. I watched Trek on and off before this, but this film made me a Trekkie.

This looks awesome. Love card games, love 4x games, so very much my thing. May have to give it a go.

Not entirely a "go Epic!" though. Nice they aren't trying to shut it down, but I would prefer companies take active involvement in maintaining their history.

No. 5 is Wayne Rooney from FIFA. Nico from GTAIV is one of them, but I have no idea which one. Guessing Default Shepherd is there, but I don't know which one as I only played as One True Female Shepherd to escape the boring angry bald men that were the style of the time.

Sure there are plenty of GOTY worthy games I haven't played, but Metaphor would have my vote. Only about halfway through, but have been loving it.

On a personal level I don't care. I don't want to spend my time with open bigotry and that is enough to avoid it. On a wider level, I think sticking with it only makes sense if the top opposed or was indifferent to the direction. Musk encourages it, so boycotting would be more effective.

Agree. Uncovering the text and subtext going on in the Lake House was a joy. Overall, I thought the gameplay was a bit underwhelming for the final beat of AW2, but no complaints about the story. Plus, I loved the room that had no need for a thousand monkeys!

Great to hear! Perfect Tides was a real delight.

I think this should be extended to episodes as well. In the old days of episodic television you used to have a clear beginning, middle and end every week. Even as it became more ongoing you had a theme or focus each episode that would conclude. Most shows feel like 10 hour long films now.

Thought for a while that our government and other like-minded governments should group together and go to Bluesky (or whoever) with a list of requirements. As long as the platform guarantees compliance then the government moves over. As you say, journos will follow.

This looks great. Exploring this environment would be lovely. Wishlisted! Will the camp mostly be for aesthetics or will there be a management game aspect to it?

youtu.be/fuFlMtZmvY0?... Here is a great explanation of what has happened with the internet, our brains and how it spills out to wider society. The conclusion reached is that we should return to the days of bulletin boards, forums and blogs, with smaller communities that share something in common.

Funny to think End Game came out around the same time as the Battle of Winterfell on Game of Thrones. I did not expect Marvel to be the one to nail the landing and GoT to stumble so badly.

I've always thought of the MCU films as fun, but forgettable times (probably why I've not been as negative to the recent entries as most). Avengers films are as good as you can make a bad idea. Infinity War/End Game are fantastic achievements though. Stunning cumulation of 10 years of storytelling.

Also the Yakuza games are great, for a more focused "open" world game. Could scratch a similar Saints Row itch too, as it goes hard on the batshit.

Cyberpunk was the last great open world game I played. Only played post patch, but loved it. Some seriously good sci-fi going on there.

I loved Mafia when it came out. It is very different from what we consider open world games now though. The city is just a backdrop to the story, rather than a playground. At the time, the story and direction was sublime to teen me. Not sure how well it would hold up now though.

And now I just read that James Earl Jones has passed away. A truly iconic figure, portraying some of cinema's greatest characters like no one else could. "And so we are all connected, in the great circle of life."

Still, massively disappointing for the developers and the few players the game had. There was clearly a better way to handle the whole situation. /4

Concord doesn't appear to be a bad game (I've not played it), but it wasn't doing enough different to get interest. Compare it to Deadlock, which was massive before it even was announced. That is a game that on the surface looks like a hero shooter, but is merging it with the MOBA to be fresh.
comment in response to post
Concord's issue was a perennial one in the gaming industry, that of chasing a trend. A trend that was out of date 2 years ago. The winners in that genre are already established and you need to do something different to get noticed. /2

I don't think the examples of games that were able to gestate a little more after release are comparable. No Man's Sky was criticised, but it was massive despite that. Destiny was from the makers of Halo. Elders Scroll Online was continuing one of the biggest franchises in gaming. 1/

I always like to check How Long To Beat when choosing which game to play next. The one that is shortest is almost always the pick. That game looks right up my street. Thanks for bringing it to our attention!

He is lucky to be able to experience it for the first time. Re-watched it so many times and always found new things to love. I've not watched it since all the... unpleasantness. Hope it still holds up despite that.
