Fair enough. It's just worth pointing out - especially since the algorithms on some other platforms are actively inducing sadness, regardless of the external realities, because of the way that keeps users on a site longer - that's not the mechanism here

Fwiw, #2 was much less the case pre-November. You're experiencing the sadness of reality through this platform, it's not this platform that's doing the sadness

It feels like Washington is making a massive bet that none of the major options defer a year. You'd know better than me, but, especially this year, isn't that a potentially dicey bet?

It's definitely smart to make your hobbled franchise center continue playing for a team that's 15 games under .500 instead of just getting whatever surgery he thinks he needs.
That play-in revenue will totally be worth sacrificing the 2025-26 season.

The problem is it doesn't capture the losing-ness of it. "Fade for Cade" included the bad-on-purpose in the slogan.

But yeah we're one bad update away from it being AD

I'd rather drop Alvarado for now, he's so inconsistent night to night, and AD could make such an impact if he's back in time

I think this is a more rational take than many actually have.
We're all exposed to a lot of AI-sux messaging, and I think that's permeated for a lot of people w/o the accompanying realizations you're describing

When I got the score alert for this game, I was like "weird time of year to play Vermont, but oh well"
saw the score and just assumed it had to be a whole different program

Sneaking in Beard like it's not actually the laziest non-initials nickname of all time, trying to hide it among actually great ones

I don't think there's a chance they give it to him before Sabonis tho

Few feelings compare with my level of excitement when I was at a wedding years ago and, all of a sudden, a choco taco-only ice cream truck rolled in
like who even knew that was an option. And then it was there. Happening to me. In real life.

When I was in high school I skipped school to go to the first round of the tournament with my dad one year.
To this day it is easily my favorite live sports memory of my life.
(And I've been to some cool live sports, including Flutie's drop-kick, BC over ND in ND, and an Ortiz walk-off)
