I find that cropping on subjects that are at the end of the 500mm, I can really tell. I can get more detail for closer crops with the extender.

Not long! I've had the R5 almost two years, but I got the 100-500 in October. Previously I had been using the Sigma 150-600, but I wanted something sharper. I rented the 100-500 expecting that I wouldn't like it as much as I thought I would. Ended up needing it ð

Personally I would be strongly in favor of more ice rinks and less parking. ð
Having only one ice surface is pretty unusual, honestly. Ice time is hard enough to get at rinks that have multiple surfaces.
