Is it ironic that this is the first half of a phrase meant to imply you are dangerously out of touch (“let them eat cake”)? I can’t define irony anymore.

This was the foundational message of ContraPoint’s first J. K. Rowling video: that essentially her mild transphobia got her sucked down an internet rabbit hole. Then she did a second video that’s message was f*** J. K. Rowling and her bullsh** after “the Witch Trials” podcast came out.

I guess I’m just surprised at the embracing of fully mask-off bigotry. Previously the NYT would reference “concerned parents” or the Cass report (that at least pretended to be scientific). I suppose I really shouldn’t be.

It’s crazy that a group that would seem to be openly bigoted like “hecheated.or*” is included in the discussion as a valid equal viewpoint without acknowledging the bias. Are white supremacists included in debates on civil rights as just another voice in the discussion?

The shortest distance between 2 points is actually side streets because the straight line is always congested.

I realized the Trump rhetoric that tariffs aren’t consumer taxes could be true if corporations eat the added cost. Then DT’s comment that auto makers better not raise prices. You would think this will inevitably lead to the White House blaming inflation on corporate greed. That fight would be fun

3) the question after says 73% polled said legal immigrants being deported is unacceptable.
Polls are speculation based off of available data, not scientific truth.

A few things:
1) the sample is 2600 people. Claiming 0.0008% polled accurately represents American sentiment is …interesting.
2) the question asked is do you approve of the Trump admin deporting illegal immigrants. The banner says do you support immigrants being deported illegally.

The time is now Michael. Make a list of all your petty grievances as a gay man, write a rant for each about how it’s other people’s fault (call it a chapter) and title your new book Are Straight People Okay?

He is one of the few gamers I’ve found who do full playthroughs of jrpgs. His Armored Core content on YouTube is good if you have interest.

Consider the male friends around you (or just guys in your orbit). Pick one in the healthiest/longest lasting relationship. Emulate their attitude. Talk to that friend if you need advice. The internet is not helpful by nature.

The only part I would question was the VP debate. The chosen tone was excessively placating. “No fact checking” in a debate is insane. I could also see TW deciding a positive approach was a better tact.

If the house/senate cannot pass a budget, do the tax cuts for the wealthy continue as part of the budget or end as scheduled?

There was a lot of anger towards Dragon Age: Veilguard for being woke. This is because a half human - half dragon(?) character prefers they/them pronouns.

Obviously personal liberties means abortion rights and the freedom to unionize and free markets call for the end of government subsidies for corporation and agribusinesses.

2 suggestions
1.Twitch streamers focusing on variety gaming. Most mid level to low streamers avoid controversial topics like the plague (fear losing subs). Good opportunity for parasocial relations.
2.become a gym rat. Obsessing over gains is better than radicalizing.

Cognitive dissonance is a MAGA cornerstone. It’s unassailable if they agree and a “living document” if they don’t.

It’s p-hacking. Redefining unemployment to better produce better numbers that support the pre-decided conclusion. It is funny that their own statistics indicate we’re better off than pre-pandemic.

Your podcasts have ruined statistic based arguments for me. Specifically the heart attack deaths per year one. Now I get fired up and argumentative every time someone throws a meaningless percentage at me. Statistically the emergence of intelligent life is impossible so are bats even real?

So who pays for this? The union? And then union dues go up to balance this….
Is your solution that if people want good health insurance they should pay more for it?

Personally I like Raw Dog by Jaimie Loftus (one woman’s hot dog journey), Sure, I’ll Join Your Cult by Maria Bamford (a memoir), and Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie (award winning Sci-Fi).
