Not a single international cargo ship at the Port of Seattle. The port is dead. The last ship from China will dock at a West coast port on the 29th, and the last Chinese ship will dock on the East coast around May 10th. Just finished a 3 day criminal trial as a member of the jury. The presiding judge visited us in the jury room after the trial, commending us on our service and reminding us how encouraging it was to see 12 random strangers still able to find unanimous common ground. Flicker of democracy remains.
