I personally think “Rail-y good…” would have been a strong choice! 😄

Bull finches are amazing - and a nice shot too. Never had the privilege of having them in our garden. Lucky you!

I'm glad to hear it! They are pretty simple to do. I watched a few youtube videos just for inspiration, but two rows of stakes and putting material in between is not exactly complicated.

Thank you for sharing this. It resonates a lot with my own experience, and it is good to hear others in the same boat and ways of dealing with it.

Completely agree! (although in my case entirely irrelevant as I am singularly incapable of spotting owls, despite them hooting at me regularly!!).

That’s great news! Fly tipping, and littering generally, is a blight on the landscape and a danger to wildlife. A shame it’s necessary to spend so many resources dealing with the gross irresponsibility of some people.

How very interesting! Thanks for sharing. Love Tawny Owls even though I have so far completely failed to photograph one!

It was indeed! I had heard one had been spotted in that location, but not seen it until now. A good birding day!

I’m sure it was great, but @robinwilding.bsky.social probably deserves more of the credit than I do 😄

Oh wow! Wonderful. I have tried finding Woodcocks in Epping Forest for ages, but so far no luck!

When it comes to small birds like Robins (and pretty much anything that size) you cannot go wrong with sunflower hearts. Best to avoid anything meant for humans.

There's something very satisfying about a good garden log pile!
