Yes, agreed - although I didn’t have an election to win.
My main concern is that they actually believe this near 20 year economic malaise can be fixed with a bit of tinkering.

Since 2010, at least, it feels like the answer to the question ‘what do you believe in?’ has been ‘pulling a limited number of economic levers in the usual ways.’

It’s possible that Starmer & Reeves are genuinely wedded to prevailing economic thinking which really does restrict what’s possible. And there’s no point announcing a set of beliefs if you have no means of achieving them.

There’s a sign in a lay-by (sort of a lay-by) near me that says ‘No Fly Tipping’ and I can’t help but feel that the author has misunderstood the motivation of the fly tipper. On the other hand I’ve never seen anything dumped so possibly they’re easily put off.
