Haven't read it but looks relevant - establishing precedent that data activities should be taxable economic events.

These ideas were also inspired by research on online attention economies with @ntnsndr.in @mzargham.bsky.social @kelsiemvn.bsky.social in @metagov.bsky.social !

At @cosmik.network we're excited to be working on infrastructure for circular attention economies in research (and beyond!)

What if it didn't? Our post explores how "circular attention economies" can transform research discovery from individual overwhelm into powerful collective sensemaking: co-augmented reality glasses surfacing previously hidden trails of knowledge and insight. >

In other words, what are the resulting artifacts from the process of attending to information? Every time you read a paper and think "this is brilliant" or "this is a waste of my time," that judgment could help thousands of other researchers navigate the same overwhelming landscape. >

What if we draw inspiration from *circular* economies? The circular economy framing suggests a follow-up question to Simon: information consumes attention, but what does the consumption of information *produce*? >

Strong agree! We should be building CERN for collective intelligence but it isn't clear where the resources would come from. Working on this @cosmik.network , happy to collaborate if relevant.

Strong agree around the importance of collective epistemics!
We're thinking about this lot @cosmik.network - what society-grade sensemaking infrastructure looks like and how do we get there

"But their visions grow limp when it comes to transforming our social reality so that everyone has the chance to live a good and meaningful life. So how can we be bold when it comes to our social vision?"
