One unelected judge blocking executive action by a nationally elected President on a nationwide fashion (rather than being limited to the caae in front of them or to their oqn district) is tyranny. If the judiciary is to overrule the President in a nationwide fashion it should be the Supreme Court.

They study fascism at Yale? Well, I imagine that's kept them busy. There's plenty of fascism at Yale to study.

Really? Nothing is for free. Electricity has to be generated somehow. If not directly through the consumption of gas or coal, then through solar panels and windmills that themselves require gas/diesel to manufacture, maintain and replace.

The 2nd Amendment first and foremost is about ensuring the people are sufficiently armed to be able to organize and defend themselves against an overbearing government.

Why are you lying? She was not arrested for protesting, she was arrested for assaulting an officer (and, IIRC, trespassing).

How can doing something that is not a crime be able to be prosecuted and get you sentenced to prison?

A switch to gas heat, hot water, and cooking needs an upgrade from 100 Amp service to 200 Amp. What do you think the cost would be to a) have the utility run new wire from the street, b) replace my electrical panel, c) run 220 v outlets for my new appliances, & d) buy new appliances?

My neighborhood has had multiple electricity outages since I've lived here. But we've never had our natural gas service fail. So, no thanks. And the cost of heating it (and my house) with natural gas is in Northeastern Illinois a lot cheaper than with electricity.

That looks like it would be a real PITA to replace or service the way it is crammed in there.

There are 21 high schools in Chicago that have shooting ranges from back when they had JROTC programs. They should open them back up and bring back the programs.

Or, we could tax firearm sales and use the proceeds to run firearm safety and use training in schools. They could be done in 6th grade; that's the age group when the Boy Scouts start doing it. That would cut way down on accidental deaths.

I'm not a fan of taking a plane from Qatar. But the frustration and action comes from the fact that the new Air Force One was ordered from Boeing 8 years ago and it still hasn't been delivered.

Chicago cancelled it's Cinco de Mayo parade for fear of ICE activity.

The first depends on the municipality or State, but that's the problem, not the latter.

See 8 USC 1325. If you are caught in the act (section b) it's a civil offense the first time only. If you are not caught in the act (section a) then the first time you can be imprisoned for 6 months and after that for 2 years.

The one on the left thinks that "his people" are everyone but the taxpayers.

And after looking at the attendee lists for Davos and other such gatherings and how they get there, I'm in the "I'll believe there's a climate crisis when the people telling me that behave like it's true."

If you include income and in-kind received as public benefits (welfare, Medicaid, etc.), pretty much everyone in the U.S. is in the top 10% of top-earning people globally. You apparently would be shocked to find out how many people in the world have incredibly low living standards.

Find me some that aren't. I believe you'll find it's universal.

There *is* a mention of quid pro quo. It's part of the definition of the word "emolument". emolument noun 1. a salary, fee, or profit from employment or office

Well, they had 4 artists and 3 scientists, so I figured that the one on the upper right was only worked on by an artist.
comment in response to post
Let me guess. 4 artists - one to each poster. 3 scientists; left-hand side and lower right.

Taxes on vehicles go the the general fund and are not earmarked for specific programs. Taxes on gasoline go to fund highway construction and maintenance.

People who are apprehended in the middle of committing a crime can be arrested w/o a warrant. If you are in the U.S. illegally you are constantly in the middle of committing a crime.

She's an illegal alien and has been arrested for assault on a pregnant woman. The ICE does not need a warrant to arrest an illegal alien. There are MANY circumstances where the police do not need a warrant to arrest someone. Try driving 30 MPH over the speed limit and see what happens.

Why should firearms be taxed for this purpose? Do we tax the purchases of cars or booze because drunk drivers kill people? Do we tax the purchase of knives because people get stabbed?

Yeah, but who is actually going to send their kids to a Satanist school?

2/2 This crisis will not end until the people who did this are exposed, forced to take responsibility, and are punished to the fullest extent of the law.
comment in response to post
1/2 The Constitutional crisis - that we are still facing - is that for 4 years highly placed elected and appointed officials exercised the powers of the Presidency while hiding - with the collusion of the media - the fact that the actual elected President was incapable of doing so.

My guess is that it hasn't actually been banned, it's just been removed from school libraries as inappropriate for children below a certain age. I think it's entirely appropriate for a college library.
comment in response to post
I read The Left Hand of Darkness decades ago. Very interesting book. I can see where it would be inappropriate for a school library, but where has it actually been banned?

Here's the deal; we are $36T in debt and it gets worse every day. The Federal gov't simply cannot afford to fund every good idea. Education is the responsibility of the States, not the Federal government. If the States want this they need to pay for it.

One idea used to promote bringing China into world trade was that it would cause the West's ideals to infiltrate into China. But the left's use of violence and suppression of free speech, centralized government control, and indoctrination in schools shows the opposite has been happening.

"which prompted Adams to say, “If nearly half of all Blacks are not OK with white people … that’s a hate group.” That's racist? If you flipped the races around in that statement would you agree or disagree?

Christianity says nothing about women's right to vote. Female prophets, deacons, and judges were important in the very beginning of Christianity. That this changed was a flaw in some Christians but not Christianity, and there are denominations (like mine) that have returned to it.

Christianity does not protect sexual abusers. Luke 17:2 "It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around their neck than to cause one of these little ones to stumble."

Tell me what you think the origin of "separation of Church and State" was and what the author was talking about - without doing a search on it first.

Oh, I will agree that any child going to a school that is publicly funded should not be required to attend any class promoting a particular religion. But then, I think that should include "transgenderism" and other such things as well. And there's plenty of non-denominational charter schools.
comment in response to post
To be fair, back when the Founders were writing the Constitution people understood the difference between men and women, and schools concentrated on teaching reading, writing, mathematics, English, and history and most people went to church. With any luck Trump will return us to that.
comment in response to post
Do you think sexual abuse is any more prevalent inside churches than outside them? If so, why?
comment in response to post
There's no denying any of that. Great evil has been done in the name of religion, generally by people who falsely used it as a mask to gain and use power. But great good has been done throughout history and every day by people actually following its precepts.

Think so? Quit your corporate job and start your own business. See how that works out. See how much work it is. Of course it works out very well indeed for some people. Others, not so much. Doing your own sales, marketing, accounting, shipping, etc. as well as production is not all that easy.
