Book bans impact public libraries & bookstores, but it’s school libraries where they are rampant ❤️‍🩹 Many kids are unable to make it to the public library. They can’t drive, often times the library isn’t in walking distance. It’s not that their grown-ups don’t want them to be library kids. 🧵 1/11

Just received this photo from a friend of a warehouse in Kinshasa. These are tuberculosis medications--ALREADY PAID FOR--that aren't being distributed due to the Trump Administration's stop work order. We worked for months with USAID to build an $85,000,000 project to end TB in two regions of the Philippines. The project is funded by private money, the Philippine government, and matching USAID funds. It could provide a blueprint for eliminating TB worldwide--except it's...not happening.

“Listening to books isn’t the same as reading them.” Okay? What is the goal of this statement? To encourage people to not engage with books at all? To only read them because that’s the only thing that “counts”? I read all of my books and don’t care about how others consume theirs. 🤷🏾‍♀️
