I agree. Private schools are the mechanism for entrenching inequality in our society through inequitable education to ensure the pre-eminent position of our moneyed "elites". Inequality is not an accident it is an economic policy setting.

Yes absolutely agree. Yet we as a society celebrate and endorse inequality, the inequality that we see is the result. Will we change? Unlikely.

Yes it was a good discussion. Although I did not agree with everything that was said, diversity of opinion is essential in a democratic society.

It seems that as voters we have a limited choice. Vote for Labor, the Coalition or Independents. Given the scope and scale of issues facing Australia what we really need to do is to set aside political games & focus on elimination of poverty and homelessness before we do anything else.

Will certainly look into it. I believe we need universal standards for independent candidates - integrity, ability, knowledge, experience, skills, formal qualifications relevant to their candidacy. Communities, citizen assembles, "voices " need clear guidelines on candidate selection.

Not to mention block lists whereby lists of undesirables - in someones opinion - are created & applied. We can escape the world of X but can we escape ourselves?

Some suggestions: 1. Zero emphasis on politicians, personalities & their scandals; 2. 50% focus on governance dysfunction & solutions to problems such as poverty & fair distribution of national income; 3. 50% focus on future vision for Australia & practical community action to achieve the vision.

You have talent. TAFE is a way to achieve formal certification of your talents and learn new skills. Life long learning is the way to go in this rapidly changing world. Good luck in your course.

A very good question. As I said in an earlier post - we can escape the world of X but can we escape from ourselves. We live in a chaotic, stressed & hostile society ameliorated to a greater or lesser extent by our ability to insulate ourselves from reality. Social media - BlueSky or X - is a mirror

I think BlueSky is a refuge for many from the nastiness of the world. However I am beginning to see factions and cliques emerging, mass blockings etc. We can escape from the world of X but can we escape from ourselves?
