Ran across this passage reading Arendt this morning: “Nazi officials … prided themselves on belonging to a movement, as distinguished from a party.” I know folks get up in arms about Nazi comparisons, but there’s an unmistakeable echo of this line in the MAGA “movement”.

Rev. Budde did what a preacher ought to do. She did not personally attack Trump in any way. She used scripture to bring conviction to his heart. Her message was essentially a paraphrase of Micah 6:8, which is pinned in my bio. Trump has evil in his heart. Evil cannot stand the light of God’s love.
