Schools should be places where young people learn to live together, not apart. A fractured system where children are separated by religion and belief –or excluded because of their beliefs – undermines community cohesion. If we want a more united society, we need inclusive schools for all.

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers. This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder. Auschwitz took time.

Today is Holocaust Remembrance Day. In 1939, more than 900 Jews fled Nazi Germany and sailed to Cuba, only to be turned away. Returning to Europe, 300 or so disembarked at Southampton. The rest went to France, Belgium, and Holland. 254 of them would later be murdered by the Nazis.

normally when refereeing a rugby game I do about 6.5-7k steps (my phone isn't smart enough to know the distance). Yesterday I did over 8k. I thought it was a fast and furious game!
