It happens! I'm so close to finishing my book 2 that it's a kind of decision paralysis. I'm close to done so I think hey, I can procrastinate right?

I've always learned to use em dashes when I think I should be using a bunch of commas. So that's what I do.

Thanks Rob! Got a website online as a placeholder for now. Seems like every service out there wants subscriptions for doing a tiny piece of work. Keeping up with it all is just draining. Thanks for the tips!

I'm not sure! I've been leaning More to self publishing myself for this very reason. I've invested in cover art and plenty of other services so the only thing traditional publishing would help with is marketing.

Wow. Keep at it! I know a few people that are pushing so hard for agents and have been a huge help in navigating the wild world of publishing.

Awesome! I'm likely to do the same. The marketing and networking involved is definitely daunting.

It was very similar! "Flashback scenes were confusing, I started skimming and eventually got lost." ... Yeah, if you're not actually reading the damn book you're gonna be awfully confused when you start up again!

If anyone thinks something is ever actually deleted on the internet they clearly haven't been using it very long. It's called the Streisand effect for a reason.

What's bizarre is that overall it was fine until it came to exterior design. Their platform feels designed to make you rage and give up, as if trad publishers all conspired to make it awful. Even KDP lets my cover artist build the cover for me. It's not even a competition and that makes me sad.

As someone who has been trying to get IngramSpark to work properly for like a month, good luck. "They've gotten better" they say. Except that no matter how I massage the cover it still doesn't work. Wildly awful piece of technology.

Subway was my first choice back when they added Styrofoam to their bread since I couldn't get the compound they used. Now you don't even get that and everything costs extra. I can make a sad 16 dollar sandwich at home, thanks.

Oh I get it. I'm just having to learn far more than I originally set out to! It's fun. Totally not going crazy.

This is kind of my point. "Here's a service that's 300 dollars a year to build a webpage for you since none of it actually makes any sense anymore" lol. I'm just being facetious but I come from a time when you needed a text editor and an SFTP and you were all set.

Rudimentary understanding that these are not AI is starting to show up a lot more frequently. I'm quite happy to see it. Super-computer statistical analytics is still incredibly impressive, nonetheless.

That's some solid advice!
