Weird old guy - record curator - wine drinker - cook - husband - dad - door knocker for local races - former stage 4 patient - getting to be way old but still employed in corporate America for the time being.

St Paul early 70’s cover band.

Damn - never expected to find one unplayed.

The reissue of Musa, Ancestral Streams prompted some additional listening.

My plans for the weekend? Laundry, looking at records, probably no flea markets due to weather, cooking some…

Time to wake up!

New neighbor is quite calm

Still pretty grand after 25 years

Wonderful stuff.

While also collecting all the welfare… Bias is not at all affected by logic or reasoning. Or as someone said: There are two types of people. Those who think Trump is a genius; and those who think.

Every time I get through the last side I find myself thinking did the audience leave as sad as this makes me… damn great and bleak as hell.

Do I open and play this or does it go in the sell pile?

Went to the flea and brought home some stuff.

Pretty decent record and a great story over @ jazzwax www.jazzwax.com/2012/02/mari...

Who knows maybe some day I’ll find a decent cover

Going to see Nellie McKay in a bit but listening to Tommy Flanagan now.

Thinking about starting a social movement - Let’s Make Smoking Cool Again. (As a stage 4 throat cancer survivor I will not be partaking however.)

This is not a fun game to watch thus far. The last few games were all gripping.

Also thank you @dessadarling.bsky.social and @doomtree.bsky.social

Assorted CDs picked up to go from $2 each to 4 for a buck - which need to be played vs tossed?

Louis Moholo is gone - all the Blue Notes have passed.

Last spin before I retire to basketball for a while.

Erma Franklin was also a real talent

Long ago walking into Neiman Marcus - this familiar guy was walking out - I said hi - he said hi back. Then I realized I didn’t know him so I said “sorry I don’t know you, you’re an actor”. George Hamilton. He laughed.

Not a rare or valuable record but damn funky and great vocal work. James Jamerson on bass kills.

Well played but ultimately stiff and not really much at all.

Driving home and a track from the new David Murray record came on. Somehow he and Vandermark seem like they come from the same school. All staccato and what melody… Both were more interesting 25-30 years ago.

Damn that was a long time ago. Gotta be 35 years since it was even worth the effort to stop at Northern Lights…
