Here we go again.

Kids these days are so online that it’s becoming a real problem for their far more online parents

[woman whisper-singing] we've been spending most our lives [minor chord acoustic guitar strum] living in an amish [several smash cuts of zombies stabbed with pitchforks] paradise

it's been almost 20 years since the Gears of War Mad World trailer and we are still trying to escape its shadow. no one will update their marketing plans. we are scraping the bedrock of songs we can slow down and make mournful. we are about to crack the molten core of the Al Yankovic catalog.

During an end-of-year investor call this February, Palantir CEO, co-founder and militant Zionist Alex Karp bragged that his company was making a financial killing by enabling mass murder. consortiumnews.com/2025/06/06/p...

i don't think it's great how many people are resigning when asked to do illegal and unethical things instead of staying and refusing to do the things and making the administration fight them.

i hope he does this. i would love so much if there was a new rightwing party in the US that only ever gets 6% of the national vote. that’d be so sick

He said the quiet part out loud www.desmog.com/2025/06/05/c...

so she endorsed the sexual harasser who killed grandma and grandpa so she can work with him?????? trashing your reputation to join a hostile work environment is definitely A Choice.

And here’s what she said weeks ago to me:

Liberal substack fiends: "remember in these dark times to cultivate joy. Joy is an act of resistance." *something funny happens* Liberal substack fiends: "This is all a distraction. Stop enjoying yourselves this instant."

I do not understand this tendency among journalists to reduce every political event to a prediction about whether it will be a lasting news cycle. On the merits, we have a billionaire who helped a fascist get into power and now believes he can dictate policy. That matters! A lot!

Chief of Nashville, criminal division resigns over decision to charge Abrego Garcia. That’s a big story and the details will likely be very damning for the administration.

This is 10-12 tenure-track assistant professors’ salaries at many places. A whole academic program’s worth of money, pissed away, In Times of Austerity, on rent-a-cops going after students who dared speak. Nobody behind this should have a career.

The University of Michigan spent $800,000 hiring private investigators--one of whom FAKED A DISABILITY--to surveil anti-genocide protesting students. I'm speechless. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

🧵It’s easy to get lost in the trap of thinking that the Carney government’s violences are not as severe as Trump’s. But the structure of what he’s doing is the same. His surveillance bill and his nation-building projects are conditionalizing and limiting the way anyone gets to exist in Canada.

hell yeah

Interesting that Carney is now inviting Modi, the ubernationalist Indian PM who ordered the assassinations of Sikh Canadians in Canada, as a guest at the G7.

Political imagination is a moral responsibility. Those who cannot imagine that justice is possible will make peace with the unjust and contort themselves in their defense.

Uh. This seems like it should be a big deal and mentioned alongside any (every!) mention of this book... This is almost as bad as the "death recorded" fiasco.

trump administration is forcing coal plants to stay open even where their owners don't want to. absolute lunatics

You know Bernie was objectively right about how embracing oligarchy is the first step towards fascism but I didn't think the Democrats would be so brazen about it

The best dresses for summer wedding guests, according to an insane article in the Guardian. This one is primary school art smock meets Alien 3.

we build a completely alienated society in the marxist sense with every element of human life compartmentalized for extraction, and then are shocked when people go mad becoming emotionally codependent with a dreaming machine that has infinite capacity for their isolated grief and profound loneliness

just remembered the greatest post of all time

we can't afford to house you or feed you but we can afford a special police robot to yell at you from the sky

It betrays such a lack of real solidarity or care for other women if you somehow didn't know about all of these things. Which I don't actually believe, since they only seem to be relevant when being wielded against trans women's rights, and never when actually advocating for womens liberation.
